Man from Phichit asks Democrat to help send him, 24 friends home

A man from Phichit went to the Democrat Party head office Friday and asked the party to help send him and 24 friends back home.

Kirkkiart Kulthonbodi came to the Democrat head office at 4 pm.

He said he joined the rally on Tuesday and was told he would be paid Bt200 or Bt300 a day.

He said he has not received any money so he and 24 friends decided to go home but they did not have money.

The man said 18 of 25 men from Phichit had their ID cards seized by some rally organisers.

Kirkkiart said he will have to return to the rally site to sign his name at 6 pm before sneaking out again.

Democrat MP from Phichit, Naraphat Kaewthong, took the man's phone number for contacting him later.

-----------

I tend to believe this not just because I have heard similar stories but because of how this was handled by the Democrat Party. I am just amazed at how little any planning and thoughts go into their reactions sometimes. From going on TV to announce an hour before hand the raid for arresting red leaders to contacting the media about this poor (but stupid) guy and his friends before they get them out of the red fortress. Imagine the PR campaign if they contacted reporters and had picture and interviews of this group being put on a bus to go back home with no money or id.

. At one time they had a lot of sympathy among a lot of people and many of their demands remain reasonable. Sadly they have undermined this with their awful and agressive tactics, arrogance and complete lack of respect for ordinary people. These so called leaders should take a long look at themsleves and how they have managed to turn a peaceful campaign for the betterment of others lot into an armed violent campaign bent on squashing the rights of anyone they come across while holed up in an armed fortress with walls manned by thugs and fed with hate filled lies and single source indoctrination on a daily basis.

"fed with hate filled lies and single source indoctrination on a daily basis. "

now that is funny. you are talking about who?

Declaring the red for "dead" as a movement and that they now lost all sympathy of the ordinary people is something that the spin meisters kept saying since 2007. It is a broken record.

The reds have overreacted but the doc dudes at the hospital overreacted too. and with much bigger consequence for the patients. the evacuation is just a propaganda show and totally uncalled-for. Sane people will understand it.

Thats what happens down the rally

By the way I dont write the red pwoer group off but have absolutely no faith that it any longer represents any real effort to improve the lot of ordinary people

BANGKOK: -- The red-shirt protesters at the Lumpini Park refused to remove the bunkers on Rajdamri Road in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital in line with the order of the leaders at the Rajprasong Rally site.

Jatuporn Promphan, a red-shirt leader, announced at the Rajprasong rally site that the leaders sent Suporn Atthawong to remove the bunkers in front of the hospital.

But when Suporn arrived at the Saladaeng Intersection at 11 am, he encountered Maj Gen Khattiya Sawasdiphol, who would not allow the removal.

Sit back Mark ... give 'em enough rope

You red apologists are a busted flush.

You have no credibility what ever.

Nobody is interested in red views about anything.

Please just go home

Wiser heads are needed to sort this mess out now.

Protesters at Saladaeng snub leaders' order to remove bunkers

Khattiya said troops could be easily deployed to crush the protesters without bunkers. The protesters at the scene listened to Khattiya and would not allow Suporn to remove the bunkers.

Khattiya said the leaders at Rajprasong must come to the scene to win approval from the protesters at the intersection first before the bunkers could be removed.

While the tension was running high, Suporn backed down, announcing he would not remove the bunkers.

isn't it about time Seh Daeng was taken out of circulation ........

Weng Tojirakarn said Saturday that Maj Gen Khattiya Sawasdipol had no rights to interfere in the decision of red-shirt leaders who ordered the removal of bunkers blocking the entrance to Chulalongkorn Hospital on Rajdamri Road. from the Nation.

Looks like there's some confusion about the chain of command. I guess Doc Weng is learning that once you have a mob it gets hard to steer it. The police have asked the reds to remove the barricade again, Major General never Seh Daeng has rejected their request. Wonder how insistent they will be. From history we can expect the police to be the ones to walk away.

Both the red leaders and Suthep have ordered the barricade removed in front of Chula hospital's ER. Will the red guard listen to either?

This is indicative of even more command and control issues in the red leadership. Thaksin meets personally with Sae Daeng but does he meet personally with the rest of the Red leadership?

This is now getting interesting. The reds are now refusing to listen to their leaders and have chosen to follow Sae Daeng. Things could heat up drastically.

The vast majority of red followers left are violent ignorant thugs looking for an equally violent leader to lead them in chaos. They are now seeing the red leaders (starting from Thaksin down) are cowards unwilling to sacrifice anything for the cause. So, it is only natural they are going to reach out to a radical violent leader is actually willing to stand with them in a fight.

Suthep orders police to remove barricades in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital

Sadly it is not that simple. It needs the right equipment (armoured bulldozers) and a PLAN! Without these the exercise will be doomed to failure and result in chaos and death.

Somchai's relatives dressed in black: Bannawit

Adm Bannawit Kengrien, a former deputy permanent secretary for Defence, posted a message on his Twitter page, saying he has learned that all family members of former Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat are now dressed in black.

They might just be mourning the death of the red shirt movement. It couldn't be anything else could it.........

Bombs Continue to Rock Silom

The glass walls and windows of Mc Donald's at Silom Center was damaged in what authorities believe to be either a bomb or gunfire attack while a ping pong bomb was thrown at Saladaeng intersection last night.

Just off Silom Road, the red-shirt protesters have erected more barricades in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital in fear of efforts by the government to disperse the anti-government red-shirt protesters.

i also think the fugitive red leader seen munching a big mac in there recently might get his supply cut now too.......

Typical! Kwanchai reaction!

He didn't think his McNuggets were properly cooked and so he does this!

Next he'll be demanding an entirely new McDonnalds menu in 15 days.........or else.

This shows another flaw of the so called "liberal" foreigners supporting the red terror out of some romantic notion instilled by wearing too many Che t-shirts. With a group so utterly lawless and operating in violent chaos, if they win, they chances the faction of the reds that does take power being tragically evil are quite high. Look at history (and you don't have to look far in this very region of the world).

This entire episode has been stressful, but it is so interesting to see how many people spend so much time here getting involved in deep, meaningless, redundant conversations of re-hashed issues over and over again!

I'm not against good debate, strong convictions and progress, but there is a difference between that and wasting hours on a chatboard talking about the same thing over and over again because you have nothing better to do!!!!

At the end of the day, with thousands of posts.... what do you put on your resume? "Reached 3,000 post milestone on Thai Visa in six months?!"

Google irony :D

285 posts. 25 days

Hypocritical even! :)

This is why some conservatives worry about liberals, that they will not draw the line when/where it obviously needs to be drawn. Although not a liberal, I respect the liberal point of view but applaud those who acknowledge enough is enough.

Given the protestors (aka; the red-rabble) in their bamboo/rubber tire 'fort' near Chula won't listen to Suporn, the ever popular 'Issan Rambo', who is one of the CORE leaders of the red-farce (aka; UDD), but instead prefer to follow Maj-Gen Khattiya 'Seh Daeng', (a truly dangerous nut job if there ever was one) I think the house 'o cards known as the red protest is gonna come crashing down quite soon. :)

Too many leaders with too many different ideas to achieve one goal; topple the current government, yet they don't communicate w/each other and they continually contradict each others statements. :D

Not to mention since the entire protest started they haven't put forth a single idea on how to improve the country, or its people other than an immediate dissolution of the Lower House.

What we need is a HUGE rain storm; given the thais extreme adversity to getting wet (strange seeing as this country gets on average 88 days of rain a year). Soak ‘em in a driving rain storm and I think the ‘fire’ will be quenched for most protestors. :D

I watched red followers easily dismantle this by hand last night. Why would the police not be able to do the same? Do you mean the reds might attack the police? Well so be it if it happens as the police and military would be justified in using force. It may not be wise to move into the lawless mob to enforce the rule of law but the police should certainly not back down from their duties from fear of what the reds might do.

But I am all for bringing in bulldozers as they could come in handy later.

A free press would ask "Was it necesary to evacuate?" The hospital search was an absolute disgrace, but is evacuating a hospital for PR gains any better?

Well, there is free press all over the world. Can you provide a link to any that are asking this or second guessing the medical staff's decision to best protect their patients as well as the patients who asked and or agreed to this move?

A sensible press, sensible people for that matter, would ask "can Seh Daeng be trusted not to storm and trash the hospital and patients because he sees goblins in the windows?"

i heard that a Thai fast food company had paid 175million baht to the reds so their stores nationally were not damaged

i think this news eliminates McDonalds from the speculation as to which fast food company it was

i also think the fugitive red leader seen munching a big mac in there recently might get his supply cut now too.......

If the Red clan ever come to power you're going to see more not less bombings and violence. They will use their muscle to extort money from all corporations and institutions. According to Thanong they've been receiving very large "donations" of protection money already. It's warlordism.

You forgot to add that the red leaders have performed witchcraft to cause global warming and the collapse of the banking system; that they perform ritual human sacrifice on stage at Ratprasong; and that the rank and file eat live babies...

Words from another red shirt terrorist supporter. Along with lies and contradictions. How much is thaksin paying you?

A free press could (and probably has) ask that.

The answer would appear to be that:

the Reds are making it difficult for emergency vehicles to enter the hospital.

the reds have entered the hospital en masse twice

they have threatened to return

they kidnapped 2 employees

they are loud in an area that should be quiet

they have proven to be violent in the past

they stole bodies from another hospital

the doctors thought that the stress was bad for the health of the patients

the administrators were worried about liability if they failed to act

-------

An intelligent man might ask --- who are you to question a Dr's opinion about medical necessity or an administrator's decision on how to properly protect employees and patients
