Here's some pics of the conditions faced by patients evacuated out of Chula to a partially finished building. No guessing which way they'll be voting come December...

It would be interesting to see the conditions of the hospital before they moved the patients. You're suggesting the mattresses were not stained before? And the fluids machine wasn't rusty? Considering the red shirts haven't harmed any patients, was there really a need to move them?

Where is the ignore feature on this forum?

It's not only the red's argument, but an internationally accepted opinion on the current situation in Thailand. Have you noticed that both CNN and BBC have stated in their interviews with Abhisit .."but Mr Prime Minister, you were never elected by the people"

the people don't elect the PM in thailand. read up thai constitution doh

BBC should know better. Gordon Broon wasn't elected PM, either - he took over the post from Tony Blur. The only voting was done by members of the Labour Party. CNN you can understand - they see everything through the US prism. "Jeez, you mean Queen Elizabeth wasn't elected?? Wow."

And Gordon Brown clearly doesn't have the support of the majority of British people, so now elections are being held. Why can't Abhisit hold elections?

There is a red on tele now complaining he has been waiting for almost a hour to be seen by a doctor at Chua hospital, says it is terrible he has to wait so long.

som nam na

I wouldnt begrudge anyone medical treatement but if he has a complaint he maybe should address it to those who caused his inconvenience. He certainly wont have to look far.

Sad. There are lots of sad stories coming out about this now, but dont worry Jatuporn said it is justified to do all this as did Nattawut and belatedly after apologising Weng, so at least the red leadeship are now agreed that whatever happened at Chula and whatever the patients have to put up with it is justified.

Anybody who has had abdominal or spinal surgery before knows how painful any type of movement is. Even getting on to a wheelchair can take one's breath away due to the pain. Then you feel every little bump during the ride. I can recall being wheeled into an elevator and wincing just upon going over the entry part. Add to it the corner which is occasionally accidentally clipped and you see stars again, or when the catheter which is up your peter gets tripped on :) . Some of these patients surely suffered severe, needless pain. For what?

Obviously the hospital's decision to move them was made for the protection of the patients. However, respectfully, I never felt they were in danger of future gunshot, bombs, kidnapping or whatever and therefore think the move accomplished nothing.

I would like to pose a question to the CRES.

Are the Royal Thai Police:

a) under orders not to enforce the law unless except under specific circumstances and with specific intructions;

B) incapable of enforcing the law; or

c) unwilling to enforce the law?

It's completely absurd how every time a "farang" has an opinion then someone has to counter that he/she doesn't have the right. I have been living in Thailand for nearly 15 years now, I have Thai children and run a business that employs 10+ Thais. Over the past 15 years I have probably paid more tax than some of these $#$ redshirts have in their whole life and I have helped support many Thais by creating jobs and opportunities. This morning we had to let go 6 Thai staff because the business has slowed down so much that we cannot pay their salaries. It's completely absurd and a stain on Thailand and especially The North. As a matter of fact my wife's family is from Udon Thani and she has always prided herself in being from Isaan, but not anymore.

It's also completely absurd how the western media is portraying this whole debacle. Had this taken place anywhere in Europe, the riot police would have been much more heavy handed than the Thai authorities. I am 100% certain that any MOB trying to block a European government using the means of the red shirt mob would have been dealt with quickly and decisively.

The way the police force is conducting themselves here is also outrageous. They are not paid to have an opinion, they are paid to uphold the law and if they can't they should be replaced.

The latest hospital stunt is the last drop and I fervently hope the army will find their balls and nuke these ass holes.

I started reading this but saw you are a farang and then realized your opinion didn't matter ;-)

and it was up to GB when he called elections and he decided to go right down to the wire andf nobody complained. Abhisit can technically and legally do the same unless he resigns or loses a no confidence vote or decides to go to an election early or if his party gets disolved which if not a double standard is still 9 months off a decison judging the time allowed both TRT and PPP

But apparently it aided the patients peace of mind as they wanted to move, so we should respect that. Of course none of this would have been an issue if Payap hadnt stormed in and the story of how that came about shows a nice macho older male elitist attitude of you cant challenge what I say alive and well in the red zone.

Lets get real ... because of the location of the hospital in terms of the lawless red mob, the staff and patients have been harassed and scared since the lawless red mob laid siege to that area. The latest development simply forced the hospital to put the patients interest first as it is VERY VERY clear the threat they feel from the lawless red mob has grown each day as have the actions of the lawless red mob against the hospital and those seeking treatment.

Also, why should the hospital wait for the lawless red mob to carry out their threat of being back friday. Worse, what if the police tried to stop the lawless red mob from carrying out their promise to return and gun fighting erupted in and around the hospital and it basically became ground zero for the next battle.

USE YOUR HEAD FOLKS.

I can't start it because of the temporary policy, but I would like to see a CURRENT poll here about member's opinions on the red shirts, especially given their latest terror tactics.

I'll have to defer that decision to the medical staff on duty at the hospital rather than some anonymous internet expert.

Try poking the doctor with your bamboo spear and see if he hurries up. Go with what you know.

Bumrumgrad is just around the corner... why would he wait an hour? Doesn't sound life threating to me if he can call it in after an hour.

I don't even take offense :-) I know I am a second class citizen and can in no way measure up to the moral conduct of ordinary Thais. Obviously I should be censored and kicked out of the country for having an opinion.

When my girlfriends son was in Chula I kept thinking what a joke the poor patients can't sleep with the constant blare of speakers and when will they interfer with the operation of the hospital. Well, it didn't take long he got out on the 20th and here it is the 30th only 10 days.
