Visa Runs No Longer Necessary ?

Featured Replies

My Previous post at

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=35800

Was labeled a Hoax and closed.

In order to regain my Credability ...

I now understand this was Published in a Thai Newspaper

- probably "Thai Rath" about a month ago.

More precise details are that it was a small column

The Chief of Police was reported as saying that he was aware

of Foreigners problems with Visa Runs - Wasted Time & Expense

And it made sense (and Money for Thailand) to have new visas

available at Immigration - at a price.

And that he intended to Appoint a New Head of Immigration soon.

I am appealing to anyone able to read Thai to search & find this article

- maybe from the Paper's website if it has one.

Or thru direct contact with the Newspaper.

I do not speak Thai & certainly cannot read it

so any help would be appreciated

Many Thanks

Bill

I thought that was the idea.... :o

totster :D

There may well have been such an article in the Thai press but I really wouldn't put much stock in one Thai government official running his mouth in front of a group of reporters. New policies are announced almost daily in the papers as being a fait accompli and then never heard from again. The type of change you describe would be such a fundamental altering of the Thai visa process that governmental inertia alone would be enough for it to never get off the ground. Sorry to be a killjoy...
