Another Pebble In My Shoe...

Featured Replies

Freshly back from Laos with a double entry visa! Thank you all for helping me figure out that process.

While I was in Vientiane, I met someone who told me that I might have a work permit issue in the future. I amicably quit teaching at an international school at the start of February. I interviewed at a better one and accepted for a position that starts in August. This person told me he was in a similar spot and got a letter from an agency he worked at stating he was leaving the job for another. I've never worked for an agency, however, I did wonder if I needed to get a letter from my former employers as well. (and possibly leave the country again?)

I assumed that when I left the country at the end of February, my work permit and Non Imm. B were automatically cancelled. Can anyone steer me in the right direction regarding this issue?

Thank you!

Your WP was not automatically cancelled. You employer should have written a letter to the labour office informing them of the termination of your contract. The question is if they did that.

I"ll email them and ask. Thanks!
