Uk Travel Insurance To Thailand

Featured Replies

i have managed to get a quote from Barclays bank travel insurance, for thailand.  just in case anyone was looking for insurance. this does not include cover for bangkok

Could have saved yourself the trouble. Tesco, Liverpool Victoria, quite a few others, cover Thailand without excluding Bangkok. standard price.

Some people are indeed having problems finding it. Have one customer arriving on the 27th who e-mailed today saying he couldn't find coverage.

Would be good if there was a place with a list of what is still available.

The FCO should list every insurer who offers policies for Thailand / Bangkok on their website along with the warnings they are making.

It wouldn't be too much work the companies who offer it would scramble to get their name on the list.

It's a slippery road that one.

Before you know it the insurance companies would be dictating the site content.

a massive red herring, this one. Very few policies, have a caveat against the travel warnings that have been in place. "All but essential travel." Most of them stop at the warning "all travel." The devil is in the detail, and most people haven't really been reading it.

This is what I was thinking, unless they specifically define essential it's wide open to interpretation. Lots of people would define essential as their two week holiday a couple of times each year, a major deal that needs to be closed by a certain deadline or perhaps a sales meeting which if missed would make your company appear unreliable and not committed to the task you have undertaken. The list is endless.
