Thaksin always gets the blame for for this peacefull rally, :D he is just a puppet in this somewhere to shovel the blame to so as not to see where it really lies. :D

The Redshirts have had enough of poverty, when you have to live day to day scrounging, existing not living.

Then Dying wouldnt bother them and as for women and children are women not able to protest after all they are the ones trying to bring up a family, so if they go to protest who looks after the children ??????????? and as for abhisit well with a bit of luck a strange Sniper might shoot him then they will need elections .

He is a murderer and i hope he gets whats coming to him.

:)

The good thing with this kind of post is that after reading the first sentence you know you'd better skip it :D

There is now talk that the north and north east may start to push for a seperate state.

This thing has only just begun!!

Give me a break :)

Let em split it up between Kampuchea and Lao. Then Thaksin can fight his buddy Hun Sen over it.

I was referring to a quote made today on CNN by a professor at Chulakorn University. :D

I'm also in Chiang mai and have noticed quite a change. A month ago almost everyone was a red shirt supporter, but in recent days many are seeing them as thugs holding the country to ransom.

A lot of expats in Chiang Mai have mentioned this. Most of the red flags have vanished sine they turned down the peace deal. :)

I doubt it i am in Chiang Mai and to tell you the truth every one i meet is a red shirt supporter (That is not to say they all support violence) but i doubt if one would ever see a yellow shirt demo here in CM

Tru.

This also my obesrvation.

I used to see many red flags hanging in front of the shops (outside the inner city)

Strangly most of them dissapeared over the last 7-8 days or so,...

Again, this is just an abservation, draw your own conclusion.

Jatuporn: This is not really a surrender and I know you are against this, but I'm going to the police station. For us, leaders, death is not an issue, but we don't want you to die.

Even a CHILD could see through this self-glorifying laughable nonsense.

Much of this could have been avoided if there had been a designated protest site - a large field with basic facilities outside downtown Bangkok. That's what the Cambodians just arranged - for future protests in their country. Granted, it's easier said than done, but if the initial protesters had been funneled to a large field somewhere, then things would not have gotten so far out of hand.

Plus, recent reports of freezing accounts of many big businesses and big shot Thais associated with Thaksin and the Reds is BIG NEWS. You can bet there are a lot of big shots close to the Shinawats, who are cussing and shouting and banging furniture against walls.

Thaskin is definatly the cause and the financial organizer of this protest

Panic and chaos will allow him to return

But the question is

Is Thaskin the head of all of this

or just a puppet himself

There are many of my business friends who say he is but a puppet of The New World Order

and Thailand is a test site for bigger things to come

love it - international conspiracy theories now!

The reality is surely that this is not the "New World Order" in Thailand but the struggle of the Thai "old world order" - where money and corruption rules - that is why Abhisit must break the stranglehold these thugs have and move swiftly towards a society where bribery and corruption are no longer a way of daily life.

Even your tune has changed since then! (My hat is off to you!)

Yesterday I say outward expressions of a rejection of the redshirts scattered around town ... it was nice to see!

Thais are mostly a very practical people. No benefit in showing support for the LOSING side.

Anyway I for one am very proud of the young brave soldiers going in to rid the vermin of the streets whether they are my nationality or not.

Yeah well said. Hat's off to the brave soldiers going about their duties in one of the very worse set of circumstances, fighting people from their own nation.

FULL RESPECT.

seconded....

agreed : it has to be done

Doing a great job I might add. Maybe the police will take something from it, but I doubt it.

you can send messages of support or advise by SMS to Abhisit at 4899006

Should have stayed at your birthplace where you belong with your aristocrats and all of this would have never happend. Thai for Thai

.Be very careful expressing sentiments such as these. Not all thais were born in Thailand

Yessssss!!!!

The fact is

They have a site where they can protest

and are safe

If they go outside this site then they are asking for trouble

I do not think the PM has any problems negotiating with a legal protest group of Thai's

So those who attack, provoke and enter the no mans area are only asking for trouble

The red shirt leaders have brain washed the hard core for 2 months that the army will not take them on

They are a law unto them selves

They believe they haven't committed a crime. What I did was fail to comply with the law."

Any deaths or injuries that a mob suffers must be the responibilities of the mob and their leaders

The Army are just upholding the law of the land

How many yellow were killed by the army and are there leaders in jail yet?

Yes the red leaders do insult the intelligence of their followers.

It had to happen sooner or later. Now I hope for two things: Firstly minimal casulties on both sides. And secondly for Abhisit to to go through with his roadmap inclusive early election plans instead of abusing a successful crackdown to suppress the opposition. What we need is real reconciliation. Without concessions to all the moderate red supporters in the provinces, i fear, it won't take long before more of them are radicalized.

You're nicer than I. I can see Abhisit going through with his 'roadmap' ....but he should not feel compelled to go ahead with early elections. The Reds had that option - wide open - but shunted it rudely. Early elections have not been on the negotiating table for a week. Thaksin and the Reds gambled and lost. Abhisit should go ahead and have elections at the end of 2011. And all expenses for dealing with the rallies/riots should be borne by T, and members of his friends and family who sponsored it.

Thaksin always gets the blame for for this peacefull rally, :D he is just a puppet in this somewhere to shovel the blame to so as not to see where it really lies. :D

You are having a laugh right?

Peaceful rally? Are you talking about the one at Rajprasong?

The one where 20 armed rebels were captured this morning? The one where a reporter was attacked in a temple; a designated area of sanctuary and non violence? The one where a French photographer was attacked moments ago? The one where redshirts launch grenade attacks on protestors with a different point of view, the one where members of the international media were attacked with RPGs in the Dusit Thani hotel?

I could go on but those who know the truth don't need telling again and those who refuse the truth will just say it wasn't them, fake reds, Newin's blueshirts, try to justify it, blame ghosts, alternative realities, worm holes, parallel universes anything but accept that this is not a peaceful rally attended only by the highest protectors of democratic ideals and whom voted for a party that was found guilty of electoral fraud and represents a minority of voters.

Or is there another rally somewhere else that we don't know about?

Red-shirt Leaders to Stop Deaths/Injuries to Regroup in Future

UPDATE : 19 May 2010

The key red-shirt leaders have taken the red-shirt stage and called for an end to the red-shirt rally to put an end to the deaths and injuries.

But reiterated that the 'fight' of the red-shirt movement will not stop, adding that the 'fight' will be carried on via democratic means.

The interview of this professor was indeed very good. I am trying to spot it in the CNN website but I can't. I wanted to post it here. I think that the Reds will not stop and although I do not think that separatism movements will emerge I am not at all sure that we have seen the last act of this drama. We see today a major act but I am sure that it will not end. I see two possible outcomes in the long run: 1. The Reds are disorganised and the current government can pass it's agenda and do whatever they want. 2. The Reds learn from their mistakes (use violence to respond to violent government) and they find new means to fight.

Always wonder if these nitwits I keep ignoring, are different people, or the same person over and over and over...

Most of the newbies going on about the "New World Order" are the same guy. He even answers his own posts. :)

I wonder if this is some odd way to try and spin the blame away from Thaksin,

yet again, to a shadowy group of OTHER world 'elites'.

It's all the NWO, Thaksin is an INNOCENT pawn in their world domination plans...

Sadly a few would believe this.

Funny that this all kicked off this morning once the stooges got booed off stage last night for having the audacity to mention that they were talking about a ceasefire/surrender…suddenly found out they had no control over the mob and that today would be very difficult for them :D

Quick phone call to the PM’s office last night to tell them that they’re on their own and best get a move on if they didn’t want Silom burnt to the ground today…any takers on this theory? :)

I am both embarrassed and bewlidered by the complete rubbish some of you are posting on this forum. Firstly, as forreingners living in Thailand, none of us have the right to post such <deleted> about something we can never really understand (Thai Politics). Innuendo! Secondly, most people posting are too heavily biased in their views and opinions (okay this is a forum where you can post opinions). Take off your blindfolds people. Thirdly, how can anyone condone violence and the killing of inocent people! Sicko's.

The press in the US is giving this minimal coverage. All of my family/friends say nothing has been on the news of what's going on over here. :D

Most Americans don't even know where Bangkok is.

It's a local problem in a small country that produces little and has no effect on the local region - and certainly not on the US. Why should it get more coverage in the US? US has enough things to worry about like housing prices, Iraq, Afghanistan, health care, etc. Bangkok and Thailand don't make the list and they is no reason why they should make the list. That's just being realistic.

Only 37% of young Americans can find Iraq on a map - though U.S. troops have been there since 2003. :):D:D

Jatuporn: "We have struggled so long together, but we don't know how many more will die."

"Our struggle is not finished, bt we cannot allow you here to give your lives for us today." (Crowd is protesting). "

"Let's end the killing."

"This is not really a surrender and I know you are against this, Jatuporn says, but I'm going to the police station."

"For us, leaders, death is not an issue, but we don't want you to die. I know you are hurting. We are hurting too." (Crowd is crying)

After months of being brainwashed with hate speeches ... how do you turn off the mob?
