I know some of CAT's CDMA modems are natively supported on the Mac. E.g. plug in and go, no driver or install from the manufacturer needed.

Anyone know which ones these are? Anyone using CAT CDMA on the Mac with the native drivers?

I need to get a new modem after my old CCU-680 melted. I imagine it was some sort of short. First I saw the message "one of your USB devices used too much power and was disabled". Then there was a smell of molten plastic in the air. Some of the plastic around the hinge of the modem was melted. Never had this happen before, but I always thought that hinge looked a bit flimsy. Moving parts on a USB device = bad idea...

Nevermind, I think I got all the info right here, straight from Apple:

The modems have different names in the US but the number is usually the same so you can guess from there.

Novatel 760 seems like a sure bet...
