How can we stop lowly educated people who don't speak English (like Thaksin) from voting in the next election.

MP should come from appointment (at least 70%) rather than election. This will stop vote buyer from getting into government.

Rucharee. I hope you realize that you're really only helping Thaksin and the Red side by posting absurdities like that. By the way - yes it will stop vote buyers. It will be much simpler if MPs buy their seats directly instead of painstakingly buying votes.

Rucharee comments always put a smile on my face.

I like the humour. Thai style. And I like to watch how the usual suspects 'experts' don't get it. 5555

I prefer to think of myself as an "Expert" suspect. :)

What a nonsense and deep yellow propaganda BS.

How could an election justify the "crime of the Temesak deal"? That are two separate things. Over the PM and the party in power decided the electorate, the people. Over criminal offences a court.

From this time comes also the Thaksin words that 'he cannot allow mob rule'. His answer to the mob was to let the people decide on the ballot box.

Look what sparked the protest of the Red shirts.

But Abhisit is scared of the ballot box because he knows he would never win if the people decide.

Thaksin politicized the Themasak deal. He had his foot in his mouth and became over confident! Thats exactly the moment where het started thumbling down!

And thats not yellow propaganda, thats just an opinion.

Abhisit is not afraid of elections, he offered to have early elections. Rejected by people with similar thoughts as you seem to have.

The antiThaksin propaganda politicized the Temasak deal.

Abhisit boycotted the april 2006 election.

And his offers you cannot trust, he promised an earlier election allready over one year ago but that never became true.

How can you read the future

Can you tell me next months lottery ticket ???

If the PM goes to an election 1 month early than he has to he has called an early election has he not

we can only make a comment when the time has come

so it seems it is you we can not trust

No voting (100% appointment) = No vote buying (and selling).

Problem solved.

How about a bit of education on the political system (not the corrupt part of it)?

Appointment is just more corruption.

Good idea but bit late

Poliics is taught in schools in Northern Thailand

My Thai wife tell me when this subject comes up all Thais are to bored to listen

she was no different

I don't think studying to Phd level in America is what anybody would describe as being a lowly education. Quite how Thaksin managed that feat with such poor language skills is indeed a mystery though.

You have accused Thaksin of everything under the sun...and now you are implying his PhD is in question...you should find out with the american uni....cock..

I guess then you must have some rational explanation as to how someone with such poor language skills manages to complete a Phd in English. Why not share it with us?

P.S. Speaking of language skills, could you possibly explain what "uni....cock.." means?

Are you silly or what

You can buy on to for 3500 baht on any of the tourist strips in Bangkok

Top English and American University Masters degrees can cost 100 baht more

From this time comes also the Thaksin words that 'he cannot allow mob rule'. His answer to the mob was to let the people decide on the ballot box.

Look what sparked the protest of the Red shirts.

But Abhisit is scared of the ballot box because he knows he would never win if the people decide.

After the uproar when Thaksin sold Shin Corp to Temasek with no tax payable, he promised to answer questions in Parliament regarding the issue, but then he reneged on that and dissolved Parliament when he realised he couldn't answer the questions.

He reasoned that if he won the election 'the people would have spoken' and he wouldn't have to face any embarrassing questions.

Thaksin believes if he wins an election he can do whatever he wants, checks, balances, transparency are all irrelevant because the people have chosen him to lead.

A dictator who has got his karma.

And maybe a refresher is needed for those who weren't, and still aren't, here then. Back in 2006 when it all kicked off. Does anyone remember the constitutional crisis the country was facing? Does anyone remember how that crisis was solved by the peoples saviour, Thaksin, resigning? (Note to certain members; the last sentence was sarcasm). The following Time article sums it up quite well, and is well worth a read to anyone unsure of what really went on back then. It certainly puts the lie to all the claims on here that "a democratically elected PM was deposed by an evil military coup":

"Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra steps down and defuses a political crisis. But the country's future remains uncertain"

"Yet two days after the election, Thaksin announced that he would step aside, and appealed for an end to the political crisis that had transfixed the nation. That crisis is far from over, but there is a sense that Thailand has passed the worst".

"We have no time to quarrel," said a somber Thaksin during his televised address on April 4 when he announced he was stepping down. "I want to see Thai people unite."

"Nothing, it seemed, had changed—until Thaksin emerged late on April 4 from a meeting with King Bhumibol Adulyadej and announced that he had decided to step aside"

http://www.time.com/time/asia/covers/501060417/story.html

Many of the quotes seem quite ironic now we all know that Thaksin lied to the country. He didn't resign, he clung on illegally as the self imposed caretaker PM. His family members were appointed at or near the top of the police and army. He was heading for complete, one man control of the country. A self appointed, non elected caretaker PM was removed from power using the army because no one else had the balls and/or power to do so for the good of the country. He promised to resign on April 4th, even telling HM the King that he would do so, but had to be deposed in a coup in September to finally get rid of him. He lied to the country.

Thank you

The problem with the truth it always comes back to bite you on the bum

To be frank, I can't tell which is the serious and which is the tounge-in-cheek posting. As the spokesperson for ozzieman, please enlighten us.
