jjjetski
Hi all Anybody know of any second hand book shops on Phuket?? Have only seen the one on Chaofah E., near the zoo. Cheers
keestha
Many hotels/guesthouses are selling/buying second hand books as an extra service to the guests. Watch out for the cupboard filled with books in a corner of the reception or the lounge/restaurant. Reckon most of them would be happy to at least sell books to anybody who walks in. KaronSteve
Hi all Anybody know of any second hand book shops on Phuket?? Have only seen the one on Chaofah E., near the zoo. Cheers Kata book store at the back of the Club Med resort has a decent selection. If you return the book you get 50% of the purchase price back. They have moved btw and are now on katekwan road.
Chantal
Also recommend the Kata Book Store which as Steven says has moved to Katekwan road. Another option for second hand books are the car boot sales held at The Greenman on the first Saturday of each month. There should be a huge selection of books at the next sale as unfortunately the last one was rained out. Look out for the kids from the Shanti Guesthouse as they will have quite a large selection at the next car boot sale.

mikebike
Hi Chantal (or anyone who can help) - what time does the boot book sale at Greenman start, please?
Chantal
Hi Chantal (or anyone who can help) - what time does the boot book sale at Greenman start, please? The car boot sales start around 10:00am on the first Saturday of each month. However to get the most of it would be best to visit in the afternoon. By then most of the stalls are already set up. That is weather depending of course. Also many stalls will be set up in the shade under the trees away from the parking area next to the street. So if you drive past it could appear to be empty.
