June 8, 201015 yr How expensive is it ? How is the view there ? Food good ? and can you just go there for drinks ? If you've been there or know about it. Please advise, thanks. I found it absurdly expensive. The view is great, but how much is it worth to you to view Bangkok from a high vantage point? I tired of looking at the city after three minutes. Consider me easily bored. The food was uninspired, and grossly overpriced. You can get better food, by far, on the street. Their interpretations of fusion dishes or Western cuisine were not vastly superior to what you might get at Sizzler. It is a hi-so destination. I got the distinct impression that people who went there went so that they could exult in their own awesomeness. You can go for just drinks, but again, the view is the only reason to go. Far better food at the JW Marriott or the Landmark....the Mandarin Oriental, a host of other venues. Service was decent. Just my opinion.
June 8, 201015 yr I went there once, just after it opened. The view is pretty good as it's so high. It can get windy up there though.
June 9, 201015 yr Overpriced food and drink (very), but I guess you're paying for the view which is spectacular. When I went there was a singer performing from a balcony outcrop next to the sweeping staircase down to the restaurant area which was nice. Service was very good, food average, bit windy up there for my liking but as a one-off experience it was good. Take a fat wallet!
June 9, 201015 yr I'd say over-rated and over-priced. The food ain't that great but it's worth popping up there for a cocktail It's good to get there just before sunset...
June 9, 201015 yr I havent eaten there so can't comment on the food, as mentioned above you can go there just for drinks which are expensive so its just all about the view. To be honest Vertigo at the Banyan Tree is much the same with regards to prices however I prefered the view from the city up there also the bar area of Vertigo has seating where as Sirocco doesnt. If you want to go somewhere to eat and drink with a good view of the city i'd recommend trying LongTable on suk soi 16 - 25th floor of the column building.
June 9, 201015 yr Been there a few times. I liked the food there, no real complaints, as others have said it's not cheap though. The view and setting are pretty spectacular. Especially if you go when there are fireworks being set off somewhere- being up higher than the fireworks themselves is quite cool.
July 18, 201015 yr always found the service at Vertigo to be better though (if you are going to pay that kind of money!)

July 19, 201015 yr Like many 'high-rise' restaurants in this city Sirocco trades on the view and, IMHO, the food takes a back seat. I've eaten there several times and been very disappointed with the food. And it ain't cheap. I have decided now to just go and have a drink, take in the view, and then go somewhere else to eat. If you want to eat somewhere on the river the Shang has a great river terrace restaurant as does the Oriental. alternatively, go to The Good View for good Thai food and entertainment. Enjoy.
July 19, 201015 yr after one very expensive meal there i do the same. it is well worth for a drink if you are showing someone the city though.
