Genericnic
The only prescription medication I take is Lipitor for cholesterol control. Can anyone tell me about the availability in Chiang Mai? I would assume that it is available but never hurts to check. Thanks David Edited June 9, 2010 by Genericnic
Thanyaburi Mac
I'd bet on it! Lipitor is a very common drug here, imported, tho, so a tad expensive. I used to use it but then switched to the locally made Bestatin 20mg, has worked quite well for the lat 4-5 years, at a whole lot lesser cost. I was pretty sure that it would be available. I'll definitely look into the Bestatin too. Hadn't heard of that before. Best to you. David
lopburi3
Almost everyone is on Bestatin rather than imported versions. It is made here by Berlin Pharmaceutical so is of high standard.
lopburi3
But it is not the same medication as Lipitor (atorvastatin). It is the same as Zocor (simvastatin) so you should check with doctor. But treatment for lipids is common here so you should have have any problems.

haveaniceday
Physer looses it's right to Lipator in June 2011. Bummer for the company, good for consumers. They had a 20 year strangle hold. Then again, they did invent it !!!!
PMNL
Lipitor are available OTC at most pharmacies in CNX. It is rediculous expensive though, Bestatin is generic simvastatin and wide used here in thailand with a good result in control dyslipidemia. Check it out on Mims for more details.
