Hi, I am an NZ citizen and have been in Thailand for some months working on a website that have not been earning any money. I am here on a tourist visa and just work from home on my laptop.I want to register my income from another website I built in the past and some jobs done for UK companies as earned in Thailand. If the income was earned in Thailand it counts for more points towards my UK visa application. However, officially I am not working here... I was wondering if there was any way to apply for a work visa as a sole trader. If I need to pay tax here then so be it.Thanks in advance!JD

There is no such thing as a work visa. Nor is there provision for working as a 'sole trader' in Thailand. As Interested Observer says, you will need Non-B visa and can then use that to support work permit application. And application for Non-B visa within the region will require Thai company paperwork and likely Form WP3 receipt from labour office. It is only the work permit that allows you to work, not the visa.
