westybrook Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Hi Everyone When its time to hand in the settlement visa for my wife, along with bank statements, and wage slips. When the interview is set and she attends, from when does the visa officer want to see the bank statements? 3-6 months bank statements from before and till when the application is handed in. Or Does my wife need to bring 3 fresh bank statements with her leading up to the interview This is confussing isnt it Ok I intend to hand in the app in October, so would I need 6 months before this date Or If we hand in October and they give us a interview date in January, do they want to see 6 months from before January? Or is October ok? Hope that helps, also guys when do they get back to you with a interview date, do they do this when you hand in the application at the embassey? Thanks for reading through all this
the scouser Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Westybrook, Hand in 6 months' worth when your wife applies and then top them up when she has the interview. Scouse.
westybrook Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 So is that what everyone does Scouse, or do some people do what I thought needed doing, just handing in 6 months worth when you hand in visa to embassey. Cause do many officers question if the lady comes to the interview but without the 3 months after the hand in date, or would they not proceed with the interview if these were not present?
GU22 Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 It's what some people do, but it's not really necessary. The ECO wants a picture of your financial position, and the 6 months worth of statements submitted with the original application will provide this.
the scouser Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 If the decision whether to grant/refuse an application is borderline, then you don't want to give further grist to the visa officer's mill by enabling him to comment that up-to-date financial records have not been submitted. On that basis alone, I'd cover all angles and submit the statements which immediately precede the interview. Scouse.
westybrook Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 Thanks for the fast replys guys, as always may I add Cheers
mrbojangles Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Westybrook, I have done what Scouse suggests. I handed in 6 months worth of bank statements, wage slips (and my P60) with the application. The problem is, that by the time she get's to the interview (in my case 4 months) the information is somewhat out of date. The more upto-date info you have, the less chance of being "knocked out on a technicality". As Scouse says, they are looking to see what your financial circumstances are. Mr BoJ
BIG SPUDS Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 we took six months when handed in application. when she was contacted for interview date a check list was sent on what further info was required. nothing was asked for so i called embassy and checked, didnt want nothing extra and the interview date was a month and half after the last statement date.
MakTB Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 We didn't hand in any bank statements with the application. When I asked them want they needed with the application, they told me all evidence can be produced at the interview stage. So that's what we are doing. (my fault really as I never came on here first. )

the scouser Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 I've not come across this scenario, but I suppose it's going to become more common as people shift to imternet banking. I'd follow your own advice and print copies to show the visa officer, explaining that you are not sent originals. Scouse.
