Well, you got the capital E and I right, but not the S or the A, I wonder who is more ignorant, the Scots in the bar, the moaning English poster or the innocent Iranian bystander :)

I wonder if Algeria would cheer for Scotland in a Scotland - Morroco game.

I think not.

Guess it goes back to history and England's domination of Scotland.

My parants are Irish but I was born in London, but they do not have a

hang up about England. Might be that the Republic Of Ireland is now

completely independant from Uk where Scotland is not.

I now live in Wales and find the older ones will back anyone against

England much like the Scots you met, but the younger people are likely

to back England against most sides and do not have much of a hang up.

To be honest I think most Scotish people deep down do not hold hatred

for English people........................ maybe ask some Scottish people for

their opinions would be better.

first of all they are not called scotch, its either scottish, scots or as us english like to call them, sweaty socks(jocks).

there is a long history that goes back centuries between the nations. to much to go into, but to cut a long story short they still have a chip on their shoulder, because we were the ones that actually discovered that they wear silky pink knickers under that thing they call a kilt. otherwise known to the rest of mankind as a skirt. plus the fact that they are <deleted> at every single sport that they ever participate in( thats if you exclude snooker, bowls and darts) and are jealous of our sporting feats.

but then again what else do you expect from a nation of "ginger" beer swilling, 40 fags a day, deep fried mars bar eating people.:)
