Change Of Immigration Ministry

Recommended Posts

An article in the Bangkok Post last week (15 June, Section 1, Page 3 ‘BUREAUCRACY’ quoted the Justice Deputy Permanent Secretary as saying it is the government’s intention to create a new anti-corruption agency and to place :o and out of the Royal Thai Police Office as part of the second round of bureaucratic reform this year.

I expected this significant change would have provoked comment from forum readers.

Ok, I'll play. Are we talking about the same Ministry of Justice which controls the Attorney General (and other prosecutors) and Judges, which was reported to have already worked out who got what % of the "gift" when arranging cases as reported in HK about 14 months ago? SO is this going to consolidate the gift giving into a lump sum or will it taise the cost of gift giving? And for those that don't know, there are no stenographic records of anything thaty goes on in a Thai court, no transcript because it's destroyed immediately after it's taped. This being Thailand, all they have to do is "lose" the records for a few months until you get into the spirit of the season (orange trees not accepted).

:D:o:D
