 Any reason the Thai Government would block news coverage of a sailboat race ? An annual classic, The Great Texas 300 is being covered by justin.tv but the site has been blocked by ICT for some reason. Grrrr !

they don't target the sailboat but anything that served red shirt propaganda so justin.tv is blocked since the redshirt issue.

I doubt that it is censored...more likely can't be shown because some other company has the distribution rights, wants a fee to allow it to be broadcat, and the ICT willing to isn't pay the fee...so they can't broadcast it.

May be they don't know what a sail boat race is. May be they thought it was a submarine race. :whistling:

maybe they don't like sailors .)

Is this the thing when the big boats come and block my sea view.

It should be banned.

Legality of VPN in Thailand: The computer crime act does not prohibit it but under certain sections it is indirectly covered and that is if it is used to bypass government blocks or for illegal activity it is illegal in that the activity is illegal but the technology is not.

Thank you for the answer, and if one reads the forum rules:

9) Not to discuss proxies or other methods of bypassing government blocking of websites.

Sorry SBK - didn't see that one. Sometimes the ICT filters mess up and block things that aren't illegal, etc. They're not perfect at all.

You find one site blocked, then try again a bit later and it's fine.

I guess this is a grey area...

Sometimes its ISP specific so please contact your ISP and find out what the heck is going on.

 What has that got to do with the topic ? The GT 300 is one of the ultimate extreme races for beach catamarans where the teams sail 300 miles in legs up the coast. We raced in a similar event here in Thailand 15 years ago, The Raid du Siam from Pattaya to Hua Hin / Prachuap / Ban Saphan / Chumpol / Koh Tao / Koh Samui which is also 300 miles
