Study on impact of FTAs

Thai negotiators have already made a thorough study to determine the potential winners and losers from the FTA agreements with Japan and the US, the head of the Foreign Ministry's International Economics Department said.

Virachai Palasai said the study details which families and groups of businesses would gain and which would loose from the FTA's if certain sectors were to liberalise.

Thai negotiators have tried to lessen the number of affected players or minimise the scale of the impact as much as possible.
