Hello,

About internet.......

I move just 3 months to Pattaya and took an internet account at

JI-NET (TT&T).

Everyday I have a problem with this account at JI-NET .

Everyday my internet stops a few time's a day......

Then I have to call to the CALL CENTRE....

Mean this number : 028317000

I take about 20 till 30 min. before you can contact the call centre.

This because they only sit there with 5 people. ( I ask this )

I this service ??

But the say... turn off your modem and wait about 15 min.

They have total no experience with computers/internet.

Just talk what they have on a paper , step 1 till 3 ( I ask this )

And there English is sooo very bad ... not normal.

I pay more than 1600 Bath for this very bad service.

This is not normal or am I crazy ?

Are there more people who use and have the same problems with JI-NET ???

Before I live in Bangkok and use : TRUE ADSL ( ASIA TELECOM )

I only pay 700 Bath for a very fast and good internet connection.

Who can give me advice about this problem.

Thnx

1. You could move back to Bangkok. But your connection for 700 baht may not be as good as you remember.

2. You could consider service/network you now use as normal. It really seems to be.

3. Have frequent blood pressure checks and take medication if required.

Sorry but not sure if you will find anything better in Pattaya or not. The cost is more because all data has to travel to Bangkok to get onto the Internet (that is there excuse-not mine). Most things do not seem to be as advertised so this is probably just another example.

I have an ADSL account with Ji-Net and have had no problems with it. However there was an interruption yesterday and I called the help desk who answered promptly in english and explained that there was problem in Chonburi area which should be fixed within an hour. It was.

Your mileage may vary....

Dirkthai,

You do not have to change providers...

You only have to move up to more expensive packages...

Take the dsl pro package from ji-net and you'll have guaranteed throughput, and probably they will assign you a personal English speaking engineer to help you out in troubled times :o

Only 15900 Baht/month +7%vat :D

Due to CAT's monopoly on internet access, the ISP's cannot give you much service, let alone good guaranteed speeds on the cheap "home" packages...

It will be the same for every ISP....

Originally Csloxinfo refused to sell these cheap adsl packages because they didn't want to lower their standards. Unfortunately market forces required them to follow suit...

After staying in Thailand for a longer time, dealing with internet and customs department, I really understand why Thai male go for 3 month in the temple, to balance their feelings.

I get nearly crazy here, every day with my internet.

If it helps you somehow: You are not alone with you troubles!
