:) Hi from Italy - venice!

In august I will be in Thailand for our honeymoon.

We would love to stay one week in an island, cheap accomodations, paradise beaches (white sand, palms, waterfalls and cultural eritage close to the seaside).

Because of moonsoon we are thinking to go to Ko Chang and exactly in Ko Wai. Lonely Planet says Ko Way is difficult to reach in wet season and there are few hotels, most of them expansive and for turist group... is it true?

Could you say me where is possible to rent a room or a bungalow close to the beach in Ko Wai, for a reasonable price?

Is Ko Wai less turistic and more beautiful comapred with Ko Chang?

Do you think is a good idea to stay some days in Ko Way or we should choose Phuket or Phi Phi? These island are better?

How is the sea in Ko Chang Marine Park during august? Clear water or muddy? Quite or stormy?

Please, advice us for the best beaches in Thailand in august!

We love romantic places with few people and not so much discos and fullmoon party :D

Thanks in advices for your kind replays!

buonasera...come stai?

well for this reason.....

KOH CHANG

Situated in the nearest distance from Laem Ngob, it takes 1-2 hours to reach the desired destinations on Koh Chang. The best season to visit the islands is between October and May. During the rainy season from May to October, visitors are not allowed to the islands south of Koh Chang; for example, Koh Kut, Koh Mak, Koh wai, and Koh Kham

IMHO , i think you'd not go to Koh Wai nor Koh Mak in August.

Q = Could you say me where is possible to rent a room or a bungalow close to the beach in Ko Wai, for a reasonable price?

A = yes, for sure

Q = Is Ko Wai less turistic and more beautiful comapred with Ko Chang?

A = yes..Koh wai is more private, quiet..and i think its more beautiful than Koh Chang

Q =Do you think is a good idea to stay some days in Ko Way or we should choose Phuket or Phi Phi? These island are better?

A =Koh Wai is bad choice in August , well try Phuket ,Koh Tao,Kho Samui instead..for Koh PP , u can stay just some places there.. overall it still be in recoveing time from Tsunami (it's ok just drop yourself to see around, for rest , the north part of Koh PP is available

Q =How is the sea in Ko Chang Marine Park during august? Clear water or muddy? Quite or stormy?

A =read above..u will be affected by rain, water 'd not be clear

Thanks Bambina for the sad infos...

:D

I will try south or just wait when I will reach Bangkok.

As august is a bad time for Ko Chang, could you advice me for a nice destination?

Nice destination: clear water, white sand, palms, good snorkelling...

Thanks again! :o

as mentioned previously....try KoTao. If weather conditions get worse head towards west coast (just a few hours bus drive - or - there might even be a regional flight connection from Samui to Krabi)....maybe KoLanta could be a nice alternative (less touristy, reasonable rates, good beaches).

AVOID SAMUI (imho)

Wherever you go ... happy honeymooning ... ciau

Why not try Phuket, its just starting to recover tourism,I bet ther are some great deals on top hotels, probably pay the same as for a shack on the beach in Chang, which i think is best avoided in august
