This is a pure racial thread, but "silly-funny" coated .

It makes you wonder why would anyone -continuously and relentlessly - tries to stir shit on such sensitive topics.

Nope. Its actually you who is stirring it here. There are many visual clues to nationality. I have met people who claim they can usually tell Americans by the way they walk, and I think there is merit to their observations.

Well, it is a racial thread, in a way.

But in not a bad way.

Anyhow,

Only way to tell where people are from is by notice the combination of how they dress and look like (race).

One American member here told in the thread that he is told he looks like eastern European. Maybe he had Slavic blood (from way back)?

So the only way to tell where he is from would be his clothes (and hair cut).

Americans (many but not all) tend to wear very colorful shirts and shorts when on holiday.

Many Scandies like to have socks on while wearing sandals.

If it is late evening and a you spot someone totally pissed (and not agressive), he is probably fom my home country (Norway).

When I am in Pattaya once in a while, I can pretty much tell the nationalities apart.

But here in Bangkok, which is where I have been most of the time in Thailand, it is more difficult to tell.

Unless they come in a big group and wear a football/soccer shirt.

I guess we all know where they are from then.

;)

Race is only one factor. For example, adults wearing tennis shoes. Not a race.

Next ...

True.

I was thinking about adding that.

Not sure what to call it (what word for it).

By the way, the "next....", whats that?

aussies are generally easy to spot - billabong shorts, vest and cap....and usually remain within a 5 kilometre radius of bangla road.

yanks are easy too - usually like to be heard, but few want to listen.

europeans are easy to spot but hard to pin-point exact country.

tbh, you can usually tell where someone comes from by things like clothes or the area they holiday in.

Americans are a mutt like people, don't you know ...

BTW, I can usually tell Argentinians anywhere in the world. I couldn't before I visited there but they have a distinctive way of dressing and even moving.

A lot of people have a general grasp (North European) due to looks, but I have also been mistaken for an American by a tourist group of Aussies...and that was after I spoke.

Heheh east asian (chinese) ancestry but born and bred in Canada.

The Thais think Im either Japanese or a local (until I open my mouth then theyy think Im a retard that speaks kindergarten level thai).

Farangs think that I was a rich thai kid that got educated overseas.

Strangely enough when I was in China they could tell I wasnt a "real" chinese. They said they could tell by the way I walk and carry myself.

In HKG they said the same thing and added that I spoke Chinese witha horrible accent and sounded like a gwai loh.

...boring.

so you can easily distinguish an average Argentinian from an average Spaniard or Greek or Macedonian or even Italian, Romanian, Bulgaria etc etc ?

'Murcans walk? You're getting delusional now. :ermm:

For those who think they can tell Brits apart which of the following traits is the giveaway:-

Bowler hat, brolly, pinstripe suit, polished brogues?

Dark swarthy skin, bushy black beard, turban?

Very dark skin, short tight curly hair, natty dresser in genuine Raybans?

Short, light brown skin, straight black hait, slitty eyes?

Burqa?

For they can all be British, or none of them can.

Sheesh, next you'll be telling me all Frenchmen have striped tee shirts and berets and ride bicycles with strings of onions over the handlebars.

No one ever guesses Canadian, but we are usually assumed to be American.

When people find out they were wrong there is always an exaggerated apology, like they had insulted me or something.

The Brits are the ones that apologize the most earnestly.

This is followed by a puzzled look on their faces when I say, 'no problem, I like Americans'.

hehehe

Im one of those.

The apology that is.

I insulted a Canadian once by thinking he was American.

Nothing wrong with Americans, but some people are very proud of where they come from, which is fine by me.

Just to make sure, I will make an apology if Im wrong.

These days I just say North-American.
