wotta
I am having trouble finding hexagonal wire mesh as might be used to keep rabbits out in Aust,. or pehaps chickens in here in Thailand, or ringlock, or star pickets. Some farang might call these y posts'. Are there any ideas out there??
ozzydom
Oz made star pickets are available in LoS , there is also a locally made ringlock fencing. Just type star pickets into the search facility will bring results . I dont have supplier details at hand but if you PM Smithson ,he may be able to point you in the right direction as he bought stars locally. No1
I just discovered this thread. In case you are still searching: try denthai.com and billionmesh.com. They have what you were looking for. Report back on prices, in case you enquire.
IsaanAussie
Have a look at the usual local alternative. 4 inch concrete posts that are notched for 3 or 4 strands of barbed wire, barbed wire and chicken wire on the lower half. Available everywhere and cheap. You can get the posts made to order if you have the time to let they season to strength. Finding a decent wire strainer and people that understand how to put up a strainer post, now that's a challenge!
haveaniceday
Anyone have any experience with price of star pickets for temp fencing? Much easier than digging in 4 inch post.

slapout
Wife did about 12 rai a few years back. concrete posts, 8 stands barbed wire. She wanted to protect her lamyai crop which at the time was worth about 70,000 baht. The fencing material labor etc cost about 40,000 baht. Yearly maintenance, thieves cut wire and trespass when they want, high water will require 3 plus days to repair, etc. Fences keep out large 4 legged critters and honest people. Fence stretchers are readily available here. but many Thai seem to prefer crow bar for tightening. That way they can come back every few months and tighten again. Plus corner posts (required for good fencing) seems to be beyond the compression of the local fencing experts.
