........I think it was something like four employees for every million Baht invested.

Thank Goodness Dave from the Blues Factory didn't invest millions of baht into his business. Otherwise we'd have six or seven men massaging our shoulders when we pee, rather than just the one.

If he seriously has done that recently please let me know as I will deal with him.

The most frustrating bit is you only ever see 1 or 2 of them working, even when busy, the others just seem to loiter around, attending to their zits, and get in the way completely oblivious to the fact that ques are forming with people waiting - one of my pet hates!!

Another cranky fereng...why r u here?

7-11s on conveniently located on every corner with plenty of courteous [and often cute] staff (unlike most convenience stores back home which are staffed with non-native language speaking illegal immigrants and which you would never visit after 9 p.m. for fear of a robbery either being in progress or likely to occur while you are in there). Why do you care how many staff they employ at B5000 per month and gratuitous comments about Thais and their zits are not necessary!

Get a life or go back home!

Wow! What is wrong with you!?!

If anyone asks a question that isn't about how wonderful Thailand is you come out to attack them and tell them to leave!?!

And let us know when this ridiculous behaviour turns you into a Thai. Although you really want to be a superThai, more nationalistic than the Thais themselves

Off topic (or not, because it's still about 7/11)

Sometime over a decade ago a Hongkong porn magazine (got your attention? Here we go) got some of their models to apply for late shift jobs at a remote 7/11. After they got the jobs, the magazine locked the doors and did a late night photo shoot at the store with their models progressively undressing out of their 7/11 uniforms.

I never bought the magazine. Didn't have to. Local tabloids tsk-tskking with fake outrage reprinted some of the more salacious pics in their pages.

Hence the unwholesome smile on my face whenever anyone mentions a cute 7/11 staff.

I don't go in 7-11 often at night time as the Family Mart is closer to home, they generally have 2 staff at night but I have noticed when they are expecting a delivery 4 or 5 other employees arrive to stock the shelves

Maybe 7-11 does the same

There are far too many complainers on this board. The only time they would complain more was if there were not enough employees to provide quick service in these 7-11s. Sorry but I think FarangBuddha has it right on this one. I for one like the fact I can walk out of my condo to pay my electric bill, top up my phone, pick up incidentals quickly in one store. 7-11s are usually very efficient and having more employed Thai's working them is fine by me, a bigger problem is often rude farang customers that want to jump the queue to get served first.

Did you not know that the Brand Name 7/11 means that they employ between 7 and 11 people in each Shop at any given opening hour? That's basic knowledge my friend. :whistling:

Yeah yeah yeah.

It is because the first store in Dallas, USA opened from 7am to 11pm.

Thats basic knowledge my friend. :whistling:

Naah, the "7" refers to the number of people doing anything and "11" is number of staff in total. So its essentially a fraction, 7/11ths of the staff are doing something.

Anyway Mr Smarty, bet you dont know how Family Mart got its name...

Anyway amazing to see that new 7/11's still growing like mushrooms. It's handy for us customers, but may be not such a nice thing for the franchise guys.

However I also would be interested in the terms and conditions to become a franchise partner. Certainly farang can not (I assume).

Am I missing a point !!! More staff better faster service. If you want to have one person in a shop or Pub go back to England or to be exact the United Kingdom where you stand & wait to be served while they text their mate or the barmaid finishes talking to her pal in the bar.

So many people complain about Thai service & Thia ways.

We are all visitors we have an option. Flights depart Bangkok every day we are not held here against our wishes.

Relax & go with the flow if you're not happy vote with your feet and leave. Why not go home & be an ethnic minority in your own country, then you have good reason to complain.

My experience of Thialand in the last three years residing have been nothing but good Ok punctuality but hey I can live with that.

the next period for cheap flights will be in September check them out you may get a bargain.

I think you are missing the point... lots of staff in 7/11 dosnt mean faster service. As stated, there is only ever one person serving while 7 or 8 others loiter around or chat/text on their phones and the other 2 tills are switched off...I always use Family Mart, they got it sussed and service is always great.

Oooooo! Tricky! How about it's a rough translation / sound alike from its Japanese roots?

The irony of people complaining about other people complaining (even though it was a question and not a complaint) must have evaded you.

Tokay - that's just a lot of double talk on your part. Read the OP and follow up posts again, you must have missed the numerous complaints and whinging. If it walks like a duck - sometimes it's a duck.

Seems to be there is never a question that is serious enough, without someone answering "if you dont like it, then go home". Why not just end this whole forum, if this is the best answer. I really like to see some different ideas on different subjects, even if some are just joking, but this "go home" answer, just keeps popping up, no matter what the subject is.

It is the answer to incessant complaining, not legit requests for information. :D
