I am up for my first retirement renewal one year vista in Bangkok next week.

Can anyone tell me the lastest requirements?

Is the office the same location as the 90 reporting office?

Thanking You All

It is called an extension of stay for retirement and you use a TM.7 form costing 1,900 baht with a 4x6cm photo taken within six months attached.

The requirement is 800k in your name only in bank account for 3 months or 65k per month income in letter from your embassy or a combination of the two to meet 800k per year.

You will need photo copies of passport data page, visa page, extensions of stay and of departure card. You may be asked for proof of address if first extension (from a non immigrant OA entry) so lease/utility payments/home register with note from landlord or such might be good to have in reserve. If using Embassy letter that will be required. If using bank deposit passbook/update (atm receipt that day) and letter from bank will be required. Most major Thai banks have offices in basement area of Chiang Wattana immigration if you need help.

I am confused, do you need a letter from the Embassy when applying for retirement visa ( annual) or a letter from the bank ? Or is it dependent on whether you have sufficient pension or if you 800,000 bahts in the Bank?

Letter from Embassy if 65,000baht a month, letter from bank if 800,000baht in bank.

I am in the same position as the OP (except that I shall be applying for my extension at my local immigration office at Maptaput rather than Bangkok). I am, however, rather concerned by the possible proof of address requirement, bearing in mind that everything relating to our TH house is in my wife's name. Would recent "official" correspondence originating from my home country (UK) such as tax demands from HMRC, UK bank statements and/or the monthly statements provided by the agents who are managing my rented-out UK house be deemed acceptable by Immigration for this purpose? Or even the Registrant Summary from my FCO Locate registration (which includes my TH address) - as, I gather from another recent TV thread, is apparently acceptable to Chiang Mai at any rate?

"I am, however, rather concerned by the possible proof of address requirement..."

I have renewed my non-imm O visa many times, and I have never been asked to prove where I lived. Regardless, there is another thread for which you should search. The thread deals specifically with obtaining a proof of residence.

It is likely anything like that could be used if asked (and first time you likely will be asked as it determines where you can apply now). Also marriage certificate and wife proof should work.

Thanks, lopburi3, for your typically helpful reply. In the absence of any specific indication of which thread I need to search for, the reply from hhgz is, however, another matter .........

If it is a combination of the money in bank and under 65000 bahts, does that require 2 letters? What do the embassy need to give you a letter( I suppose the embassy require a fee?) copies of several bank statements showing income?

This has been most useful information and I am grateful, learn something new everyday.

Yes, 1 letter from the embassy confirming your income and 1 letter from the bank confirming the amount of money in your account.

THe embassy requires a fee and what they require as evidence of your income depends on the embassy. Contact them.

You would need an Embassy letter and a Bank letter.

It would depend on what Embassy you have to use. Some require proof of income . Some require nothing.

Yes there is a fee.

EDIT.

I think you are from UK.

Details Here half way down the page.
