Hi All,

Anyone know how to program the electric door locks on a Nissan March / Teana?

I asked the dealer auto door locks, they said it can't be done... but wait... they also said the same about the electric windows but I managed to find instructions on the internet on how to program factory the electric windows. (seems dealers are a bit clueless about their own products).

User Manual does mention how, but it doesn't work. Honda's and Toyota's lock automatically after the car moves a certain speed, then unlock if put into P.

*Auto Door Locks I'm talking about: Door will lock automatically after moving a certain speed. Then unlock automatically after putting it P.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Thanks All.

Program them to do what? And what on earth can you program the electric windows to do - mine just go up or down, with an auto function one for those labelled as "auto"?

No idea about Hondas as I have never had one, but not all Toyotas lock at a certain speed - some don't and you have to lock the doors manually. I can understand this in a March, but I am surprised at it in a Teana.

None, as far as I know, unlock when the car is put in Park which would make central locking rather pointless as a security measure, as well as rather annoying. Mine have always unlocked when you turn off the ignition, as they have in after-market alarms/centre-lock systems I have had fitted, and they should also unlock if the airbags go off, although the Toyota dealers do not seem to know if this happens or not..

Currently it's completely manual(electric), meaning you have to press the button to centrally lock/unlock all the doors.

But the CRV's and Camry's have a feature where it will lock after a certain speed, preventing kids from opening doors accidentally, or drivers forgetting to lock the doors at "scarry" intersections/places. It's a nice feature to have... peace of mind... not at all life preventing like lack of oxygen... but never-the-less... nice feature to have enabled in this day and age.

The CRV's and Camry's do unlock at Park, or can also be programmed at other settings, but the March or Teana's don't seem to have this feature...or at least no on knows how to go about doing it.

Same with the electric windows.

- In the early days of electric windows, they will go up and down depressing/lifting a button.

- As people/technology become 'smarter', they offered 'auto' one-touch down, window will go all the way down at one touch, rather than continually depressing it.

- As people/technology become 'smarter asses', they offered 'auto' one-touch up and down, down made sense... up was a convenience... at decaptiations... law suites... discontinuation of auto-up.

- As people/technology learned, they offered saftey electric windows, stopping the window from going up if there is a resistance... returns one-touch auto up.

Most newer cars can program the electric windows to enable or disable 'features'... sometimes it's in the manuals.. sometimes it's not (as I've learning with the Nissan March).

So, I'm hoping someone with some experience can 'enlighten' / share ideas here.

I am 1 step away from sending off an email to Nissan Thailand, but I fear it will be one-touch 'deleted'.

The Auto Lock options are able to be set (if available) using the diagnostic tool (BCM). Usually there's a few different options including speed-sensing, in/out of Park and ignition on/off. You'll need to talk to your dealership about what options the March/Teana support and to get them to do it for you - that is, if you can find someone there who understands the question ;)

I recently had this option enabled on my Pajero Sport.

Thanks for the info... I'm scouring the local forums to see if anyone has figured this out.

The BCM is a pretty substantial piece of custom hardware, that also requires a connected PC with custom software. Even if someone figured it all out, the expense would be ridiculous.

Just get your dealer to do it - if they don't understand the request, contact head office and have them explain it to the dealership :)
