Billboards

Featured Replies

 Just received an email from sec-media.com flogging advertising space on trashy signs to be erected on every road on Samui. Price starts at B10,000 per month, not a bad income when you don't own the land !

Sorry, tried to upload the email here for all the horror so you could see, but this site rejected it.

Crusty, I couldn't agree with you more. They are a blight on the landscape. A couple of years ago there were some

re-assuring announcements from local government that there was to be a purge on this hideous form of advertising.

As usual nothing has been done, in fact it's increased. Not only that, but they leave the boards up to rot and the nails they hammer into the trees to hold the signs up eventually kill them.

PLEASE let them do it JUST on samui. Please!  :coffee1:

Sorry if I'm missing something...but why??

After they build the new bigger Tesco with McDonald's inside, you will see McDonald's billboards all over KPG.

Be careful what you wish for Frank.

Build it and they will come.

The only way to stop people renting these billboards, is to spray graffiti on them. Who wants to pay 10,000 Baht for a sign that is immediately defaced????

Oh dear what a pity.....:whistling::lol:

:D Brilliant ! I'll buy me a black spray can today. But there is another way, by changing the wording. In Bang Bo there was huge sign on the corner for OASIS SPA with a line reading " Take away kits ". 30 seconds work and it read " Take away kids " and then the signs by Big Rock warning " Bricks on road ahead " which someone changed to " Pricks on road ahead ". Wasn't me.

NIMBY eh? Just for that we should build a few more luxury hotels on KPG......another 50 jetskis as well......and yeah a KFC franchise for every village......enjoy! :bah:

Ahh, memories. smiley-char124.gif

Well, if 10,000 baht for small signs, I wonder how much the big one is that has been set up coming into Maenam? (by the bridge).... Perhaps Chang Beer, will take it to counter the Singha one at the other end of Maenam! :bah:

And please, hope no one uses Old Motor Oil to fertilize the lawn :blink:But do watch out for the Pr..k in front of you!:lol:

I can't stop laughing. I have this picture in my head of Crusty & Screamingeagle, riding around on a loud bike, with cans of spray.

SE telling Crusty , one more word about how loud the bike is, he'll shove a can down his throat.

SE giving Crusty a lift up to reach the board. Ok you had to be there, they make a fine couple.

Tesco's manager at Police Station " It's intolerable, someone has gone around the island and changed our signs to read Tesco pus"

Police "Any idea who did it ?"

Tesco manager " Well in almost all locations there were reports of a very loud bike in the area" :o

My bike isn't so loud now. Just put mufflers in. No more 6 inch blue flames coming from the exhaust. What a model citizen I am!
