Hi,

I wanted to know if there is any diving outlet where

i can do both scuba diving and advance open water course

with them (and may be later Dive master and other courses)

, without having to go to pattaya for doing number of logged

dives

From what i understand there are many diving outlet in Bangkok,

(i can contact them directly, but wanted to know if anyone has

done this in Bkk, and any shortcoming to doing this in Bkk) and

guess they must be taking divers to some diving spot in Bkk?

For business reason i can't go to pattaya. Thanks

And my second question is:

Do i have to pass dive master course (I don't think i can pass

the 400 meter swim and 800 meter snorkle test) in order to

go for higher level like IDC staff instructor, Mater instructor,

or course director?

I check Padi site, and seems being Dive master isn't a must

for jumping to higher level courses, because they are mostly

teorical and not physical like earlier courses.

Thanks

I just made Padi open water in pattaya. But I think it is possible to make the pool in BKK and for the dive in the sea maybe it is possible that they pick you up in BKK and bring you back in the evening.

I deal with a very nice guy in BKK, who seems to be a real specialist and also his page is searching for proffessionals.

If interested in the contact infos, let me know!

By the way if you can't pass 400 meter swim and 800 meter snorkle, I would exercise a little bit.

I don't understand "I would exercise a little bit"?

I believe among many dive outlet in Bkk, someone might take you

to somewhere in Bkk for diving like chapaya river,...it will be too tiring

to go to pattaya and comeback every time.

I would still like to hear from others, if later i might need that info. Thanks

exercise means, you go say every second day in the pool and try to make your body a little bit more strong.

400 meter are really not a big thing. My 60 year old mother sometimes go to swim 1500 meter for trying not getting to fat.

diving like chapaya river
:o:D:D

there is a little movement in the river, right, how do you think you will be able to stay on the same place, if you can not even swim 800 meter.

it will be too tiring

to go to pattaya and comeback every time.

There are many diveshops in Bkk where you could do all the accademics and all the pool stuff. However diving in the Chaopraya is not really an option. :o

If not Pattaya then you could do your Open-Water-Dives in Koh Tao but that will increase the costs quite a bit!

If you are thinking of becoming a dive-pro. you will need to do all the courses incl. Divemaster as that represents the first professionel level in the PADI-system. To get certified as divemaster you will need 60 dives logged and signed in your logbok at the end of the course.Following that you can apply for the IDC (instructor development course) after having a total of 100 dives logged.

Hope this answers your questions-if not contact your local diveshop!

good luck

I'm sorry, but if you can't manage to swim that far, you 'aint gonna be much use as a divemaster!!!!!!!

Imagine yourself with a group of 10 "advanced" open water divers, from expierience, most of them don't know their ass from their elbow. You get caught in a current while trying to surface close to a reef, they end up all over the place. You are too close to the reef for the boat to get them, that leaves you!!!!!!!

Do yourself a favour and get fit because as a diver, YOUR life may depend on it one day!!!!!!!!!!

my GF is afraid about sharks like you :D

but I'll test her, if she can swim 400+ meter, she might escape :D

therefore the divemaster needs 400 meter swimming, else divemasters can not catch the beautifull ladies in the wather......

good luck
