I am interested in learning about Unemployment insurance as well - however not public social security.

I will most likely be relocating to Bangkok on a decent remuneration package as the rep of a rep office, but would like to find some professional unemployment insurance fund options, which will cover a reasonable amount of money. My monthly paid out salary would be around 6K USD and would like to be insured for at least 2K USD/month.

Any links or references would be much appreciated. Thanks.

BUMP. Anyone know of local or expat oriented insurance plans which will cover unemployment? I am not referring to unemployment in the event of an accident or illness, but rather in the event that I choose to resign or get laid off.

Where I come from, as long as you have been an insurance member for at least 1 full year while employed, you will be eligible for a monthly pay out (based on a percentage of your insured salary) until you find a new job. Advice is appreciated.
