Had a heavy few months on the beer, latest binge in Bangkok left me with me a stomach swollen like a football, google has convinced me that its liver related (just starting to go down though so recoverable) so big detox now for a couple of weeks but its hard in Samui, unless you do it all yourself or pay silly prices to non-qualified spa centers.

Two places I found:

1) Art Cafe in Bophut - good drinks, no msg, brown rice, spirulina, liver flush etc.. good price, but gets a bit boring after too many visits a week and closes 6pm.

2) Absolutely sanctuary - Similar to art cafe but a little more upmarket and too expensive. They have a privilege card for 2500 baht/yr which gives 50% off if 2 dine but a retarded 15% off if only one person otherwise would be ideal to mix into a weekly diet

3) I cant be bothered cooking myself unless very very easy . Anywhere else in Bangrak, choneng mon, bophut reasonable and healthy? No white rice, no msg.

4) Prefer to avoid travelling too far, e.g. Lamai too far.

Detox on the cheap? Do it yourself.

Cheap as in not 5* spa prices.

Let me rephrase, detox that I dont have to checkin to a spa, stick something up my bum, or stop working.. Places which sell healthy detox style prepared food or supplement, or a goodie bag for a week, or stuff I can stick in the freeze and then move to the microwave - preferably in own container so no washing up.

Now there an ideas - meals on wheel detox - they deliver breakfast and smoothie and vitamins or whatever to your room morning, lunch to your work, and optionally dinner.. 1 week package or something..

Thats very cheap, is that Bangkok Hospital on Samui? Im pretty sure its not a long-term thing, but will get a test after a few weeks to confirm things back to normal. Thanks

I think Mattcode should defently be worried if he thinks he is pregnant :whistling:

Another thought Matt, the PTT petrol station on the ring road Chaweng, Health Food store there, very sure will have liver detoxing kits. There is also a sign on the notice board at Tesco.

Your own body will detox itself better than any detox plan, just drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet and a do spot of light exercise. Your body can only absorb a limited amount of vitamins and minerals per day taking supplements only boosts you mentally as you believe your body will get better quicker but physically they do nothing, time is a healer as they say. 3 months is your minimum i'd say, 2 weeks isn't going to do a lot other than maybe lower your blood pressure after all that boozing.

There are many forms to detox. I did this at home in a very simple way and safe. I took a tea preparation called "Nature's T Infusion" once daily after each meal. It makes you clear your bowel totally. You can google this for full details. This tea, in teabag is available in Bangkok and maybe in other areas. When you google, you can get the distibutors contact so you can find out where this is available.

Detox on the cheap? Do it yourself.

I don't know if this is info 100% correct but I was told the best way to detox or clean out

your system is to fast for 3-4 days and drink loads of water. would be cheapest also I think.

I never even considered fasting before but I tried it once and it was not as difficult as people think.

If your worried about your liver have a look at "i drink to much" fourm, they are always talking

about milk thistle being good for your liver. there are couple pills that are recomended quite often

but I don't remember the name.
