Stainless Steel Flex Connector

Featured Replies

I am looking for a stainless steel flex connector about 1 meter long (I can make do with shorter but prefer 1M)to go from my propane bottle to my double burner. It's a U.S. unit and will need a 1/2" female fitting. I have been to Home Pro, Homewerks, gas shops, etc. and all they have are the rubber ones. My manual is specific on the requirement for SS and I didn't catch it until I already had moved here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Can't see why a rubber hose won't do the job just as well as a stainless steel flex which is probably only braided rubber hose anyway.

It will probably do the job until the heat melts it. Stainless was called out in the installation and all I asked is where I could find it, didn't need the situation analyzed. Stainless flex hose is not a braided rubber hose!

But thanks for replying....

My pleasure, glad I could offer some assistance.

For those who are thinking that the OP wants a braided hose this is the required item:-

I've not seen them here, I suspect that ordering and shipping from abroad is going to be the fix :(

How about using a rigid pipe from the burner to a reasonable distance then a rubber flexi to the bottle, at least that would get you going :)

Thanks Crossy for the idea, not sure it will work since I have limited space at the connection, will try to rig something up like that until I get one shipped in although I am not in a real big hurry. Maybe there's a slight chance I will find one here.

Maybe this is the kind of steel flex cable you're looking for?

It's used on my hot water heater, so maybe in a plumbing section at HomePro?

Sadly, that's a braided rubber hose and not certified for gas :(

OP needs a solid stainless flexible connection.

Thanks but Crossy is right, the ss hoses for water are in a lot of hardware stores but not for gas, I hit several places today with no luck. The "best" anyone came up with was a copper tubing with a fitting, I take safety seriously so I'll order from the USA, it's for a US made double burner for a BBQ so it's a little different than your normal setups in Thailand although I am a little surpirised not being able to get it here.

Thanks to all for your help.

Mike

Have you considered copper tubing? I would think you can get easily and should wok in this application.
