Hi

I've got 1 year multi entry non immigrant visa o obtained from Hull which ultimately expires in november.

I did visa run every 3 months and now I'm 2 weeks before i should do another one but currently I'm in a process obtaining WP.

Actually I think i'll get it before expiration date on this month. Friend from my job told me that Iw no need to do visa run anymore just make a raport for immigration office every 3 months, he said i no need to do anything with my visa, but i still confuse about this...

> If I will get WP on time do I need to do visa run and then go to immigration office change my visa to non immigrant visa B ?

> what if for example I want to quit a job... can I still stay on my visa without WP?

You need to apply for extension of stay based on employment if you qualify.

If you don't qualify you must go to nearest consulate and get a non-B (KL will give you one year)

Extension of Thai Business Visa

The Thai "B" or Business Visa can be extended to a one year visa in country as follows.

The extension of the visa is normally based on employment and as such there are certain regulations governing the company who is employing you.

These are the regulations for the extension of the "B" Business Visa:

1. The business must be registered in Thailand.

2. The company must be capitalized to at least Baht 2 Million while operating fund must be at least Baht 1 Million.

3. The company must have a ration of at least 4 : 1 - Four Thais for every foreigner.

4. You must earn at least in accordance with the level specified for each nationality by the Labour Department.

Duration of the Extension

- One year at a time.

Documents required for the extension:

1. Application form (T.M. 7 )

2. Passport or document used in lien of passport and its copies .

3. The applicants 4 x 6 cm. photograph .

4. Extension fee Baht 1,900.-

5. The company letters certifying as follows ;

- Reason or necessity in employing the applicant his / her position, salary and education background.

If you qualify for/obtain extension of stay based on employment issued by Thai immigration and your employment subsequently ends, you will have to leave the country on your last day of working or obtain 7 day extension from immigration (fee 1,900 baht). If permission to stay is based on Non-B visa (issued by Thai embassy/consulate abroad) that is not affected should employment end.

1. You may need to get a Non "B" visa before the Labor Department will issue you a work permit. If required, take the work permit application receipt (WP3) and company documents to a Thai embassy/consulate in the area.

2. Work permit and immigration are two separate requirements. You always need to keep your visa or extension of stay up to date, including 90 day border runs if appropriate.

3.You can always remain in Thailand if you have a valid visa and permission to stay stamp.

4. When legally working, you can apply to immigration for a 12 month extension of stay. This would negate the requirement to do 90 day border runs but becomes invalid if you loose the job.

3.You can always remain in Thailand if you have a valid visa and permission to stay stamp.

It is the permission to stay stamp that allows stay in Thailand, not the visa. If on 12 month multiple entry visa and do border run just before visa expires for new 90 day entry, can be here legally for months 13/14/15 even though the visa has expired.
