Gang-related shootout on Jomtien Beach leaves one man badly injured

PATTAYA: -- Late on Sunday Afternoon, Police received reports of a shootout taking place on Jomtien Beach Road involving two rival gangs. Before Officers arrived one of the shooters, Khun Tamaroon aged 18 had left the scene after placing a call to his Uncle, Khun Virort aged 56 who arrived in his Bronze Toyota Vigo to pick him up. Before the uncle arrived, he was unaware of the shooting and brought his young grandchildren along for the ride. At this point Khun Tamaroon was badly injured and had sustained a gun shot wound to his right arm.

" on Sunday Afternoon " ....." and further shots were being aimed at his truck as he attempted to escape "

hope there were not too many tourists out for a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll ? :whistling:

This illustrates the need to do something about violent youth crime in Pattaya. This kind of behavior during the middle of the day on Beach Road cannot help Pattaya's image as a safe tourist destination.

Severe penalities need to be given to any one who uses a gun in commision of a crime!
