Where can i get the best rate for CAD to THB for a large amount?

i have an account at Kasikorn, will it be best to go there? or should i just change it in canada?

You usually get a better rate in Thailand than you would outside the country. If you transfer funds or use an ATM in Thailand even a higher rate the TT rate. Check this link":http://bankexchangerates.daytodaydata.net/default.aspx Then ask what our bank would give you. There are two rates for everything inside Thailand (higher) and outside Thailand (lower).

so going to my kasikorn and asking at the counter is my best choice?

cool

Check with your local bank what rate they will pay, usually for a large amount they will give you the top rate if you confirm it first.

Get the details from the bank which are required for an internet transfer, transfer the money direct from your Canadian bank to

your Thai bank, This is the cheapest and best way from Australia and probably from Canada to.

for some reason that only applies to my province.

Not with SCB, i am charged 30 AUD in Australia no matter what the amount and nothing by my Thai bank and get the best exchange rates.

Maybe you should change banks.

No you can carry any amount of money through Thai customs if bringing money into Thailand.

In Austalia you can take any amount of money out of the country but you must declare amounts

of $10000 and above, You will have to check your own customs laws as far as money is concerned.

go to central festival and check what bank gives the best rates

Or look at the link I provided: http://bankexchangerates.daytodaydata.net/default.aspx. Change to CAD. If you use an ATM card you can get 20,000 Baht per 24 hour period. Visa charges 1% exchange fee and your bank in Canada charges what ever they charge. My US bank charges $5. Then there is an ATM charge of 150 Baht for the ATM use here. Or take your ATM card inside the branch and you may be able to get more than 20,000 baht and avoid the 150 baht fee. You get the TT rate rather than the note rate. I personally use internet transfers through Bangkok Bank. They have a branch in New York USA. I don't have a clue if you can do it from your Canadian bank though. Make sure you notify your bank that you are traveling so your ATM card isn't flagged.
