6-9 Months In Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi

Have been on a marriage visa for the last 2 years. Now my wife and I want to spend approx 6 months in NZ and 6 months in Thailand. I am fairly sure that the Thai embassy in Wgtn will only issue single entry 3 month visa. What recommendations do people have to make it easy and where to go for extensions etc.

Thanks

Mate in australia i get a 60 day tourist visa, and i put next to where you mark X i put x2 and i get with that 2x 60 day tourist visa's.

Which gives you 6 months.

You are married ask for more based on that fact and see what happens.

1. Apply for multiple entry non-O visa based on marriage.

You have to make a border dash every 90 days.

2. Apply for extension of stay based on marriage in your local immigrations.

Don't forget to buy a re-entry permit if you leave the Kingdom.

From Police order 777/2551

2.18 In the case of a family member of a Thai(applicable only to parents, spouse, child, adopted child or child of his/her spouse):

Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 1 year at a time.

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

(2) Proof of family relationship

(3) In the case of a spouse, the marital relationship shall be dejure (legitimate) and de facto;

(4) In the case of a child, adopted child or child of his/her spouse, the said person must not be married, must be living with the family, and must be less than 20 years of age; or

(5) In the case of a parent, one of parents must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit of not less than 400,000 baht for expenses within a year.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Note: Two months first extension after that 3 months

Is it necessary to keep 400000 Bt in bank,in order to get a Non-Im. 1 year Visa based on marriage? I was thinking that ,even if people have a spouse in Thailand, I can get a multiple entry No-Im. Visa for 60 days in my home-country and than just renew it every 3 months by crossign the border. I am married to a Thai national, and I would like to stay in Thailand for 4-7 months, without keeping a fortune in a bank .

Large bank balance is not needed for a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa.

This will give you unlimited entries for a year. A maximum of 90 days each entry.

Details Here.

thanks for the replies you guys. The requirement for having 400000 baht in a bank here is a waste of potential income in your own country for the year marriage visa. I think I will go with the sweet talking recommendation and try and get a mutiple entry visa based on history and situation. Should be able to muster a pretty sweet smile after 6 months in NZ !!!!
