The superintendent of the Bophut police station, Pol. Col. Phayoong Saksurin, has served notice that they would enforce the rules for drivers on the road.

He said there had been a surge in the number of drivers ignoring basic rules of road safety, resulting in higher road accident rate on the island.

Tea money collection must be right down from all the bars going out of business so it's collection time now and not at the end of the month. Gimme a break! They'll always enforce the law to make money, not because they are (supposedly) paid to enforce the law. What a bunch of conniving thieves!!!!!

Need to add a few more, don't drive motorcycle the wrong way down a road or on the pavement, stop at pedestrian crossings (now that would be novel), and I'm sure there are loads more.

Like the bit about shunning bribes, I wish him well.

How can the police enforce traffic rules when the average Thai dont know any, my wife always reminds me that I am the only one on the road who has passed a driving test.
