August 12, 201015 yr I have a US spec Toshiba TV and a Dreambox DM800. When I first got the TV and plugged it in, I couldn't get a picture. I went to Amazon and bought some US spec DVI-HDMI cables and that worked fine. Then recently I updated the image on the DM800, and now I can only get sound. It all looks OK, DVI specified on the Dreambox, but I can't for the life of me work it out. DVI/HDMI doesn't worry about PAL/NTSC does it? Anyone have any clues?

August 12, 201015 yr DVI doesn't carry audio, if thats the only cable running from your box to your TV it would be impossible to have any sound at all.

September 8, 201015 yr DVI doesn't carry audio, if thats the only cable running from your box to your TV it would be impossible to have any sound at all. Dreambox uses a special DVI-HDMI cable with 24 pins instead of the normal 18(19) pins that also sends audio from Dreambox to TV.

September 8, 201015 yr The DM800 will work out of the box with most TV sets once you have set it up. Simply go to the MENU|SETUP|SYSTEM|AV and make the changes required to support your TV.
