yes, i was merried in ampur..

I think maybe this is the wrong forum too !

If you want to leave Thailand and go home OK !! GO HOME !! if you want to stay in Thailand OK then go to your local District Office and tell them what you want to do.

At most the genuine Thai Solicitor ( Lawyer ) will only want 40,000 at the most, me thinks what the hel_l are you bothering for anyway ???

I think you will have to return to Thailand, try to locate her and see if she agrees to divorce and go to the same Amphur you were married at and sign the divorce papers.

In my limited English, I can just say....huh???

Probably the best option, and offer her a 20k sweetner or something. Can do on the grounds of in-absentia but 150k seems way too much.

I think maybe this is the wrong forum too ! (wrong, right forum)

If you want to leave Thailand and go home OK !! GO HOME !! (wrong if you want a divorce) if you want to stay in Thailand OK then go to your local District Office and tell them what you want to do. (right)

Travel2003 - Meninblack !! Sorry buddies RIGHT FORUM I took it you were still in Thailand, below is what is what I meant " what mesidead gave you " is the place to look, and yes you do have to come back to Thailand to get a divorce. I only know of one divorce case a guy from Switzerland cost him 15,000 baht. and he got a good deal from the ex. http://www.thaivisa...._1#entry3804763

Unless you are preparing to marry again I do not see the urgency.

Divorce at the Amphur is quick and free providing you both agree to divorce an the terms of the divorce.

However, If you don't know where she is and wait three years then you can divorce on the grounds of abandonment. If you can prove that you were apart and she made no effort to contact you.

Well said ..just Waite until she finds another falang who wants to marry her then she will be looking for you for a divorce ,.job done .and you save 150.000 baht jap.gif

better still, charge her 150,000thb that her new bloke will have to pay you if he wants you to agree to a divorce :)

better still, charge her 150,000thb that her new bloke will have to pay you if he wants you to agree to a divorce :)

which she will probably want to split 50/50 with you in some sort of tuck up deal with the other farangwhistling.gif,

I can never understand non-Thais desperation to get divorced at any cost.

Being married to an absent foreigner is much harder on a Thai lady than it is on the foreigner.

Can't buy land or property (foreigner has to sign declaration before she can buy), can't find another mug, etc.
