No.

US Embassy does not verify income. They provide a letter of your declared income that you must sign under oath.

I've been going personally every year to get verification of my monthly Social Security income for the Thai.

I am not well enough to make the trip, What can I do?

Contact the consular service section and see what they can do.

If you are not well to travel and under doctors treatment, you can also get an extension of stay based on that for up to 90 days. Most major private hospital have liaisons with immigration and can assist you.

You could also contact Immigration in that case. Perhaps Immigration will take your condition into consideration and accept official SS paperwork or otherwise make arrangements - if not there is the 800k in bank account option.

As I was composing this posting I called a good friend of mine who is an official Embassy warden. He commented to me that the ACS section of the Embassy will accommodate a person that cannot travel in different ways but he could not be more specific as I could not tell him the location of the person or if this person is bed ridden or what. He suggested the following:

Write/email or call the US Embassy ACS section and inquire what they can do for you.

Contact a warden in you're area and inquire with him/her.

If you live close to the Consulate in Chiangmai inquire with them.

The warden I spoke to said he has known the consulate folks to arrange to stop at or near a persons home when they are traveling to an Outreach visit.

So the bottom line is make contact with the ACS folks first and see what's possible.
