Little problem here, my wife has never flown before and she is trying to get to Okinawa Japan to come stay with me during my command approved accompanied tour of 3 years. She is supposed to fly in on Sunday, but a typhoon is on its way on that day. I told her to try to get one for Saturday, but she says she tried and they had no opening. She's under the impression that there is only on air line or something :o (China Air). Does anyone know of any travel agncies near the airport in Bangkok (she's staying in a hotel there) that i could call and try to get flight information for her?

There are a few agents in Don Muang train station right across the Viphabadi Rangsit Rd from the airport. Sorry, I don't know their names or contact # though.....

BTW if she's never flown before, how is she going to handle the change of flights in Japan as there is no direct, non-stop flight to Okinawa from Bangkok? If her first port of entry in Japan is Narita or Kansai (Osaka), she will not only have to change the plane but also the airport to catch a domestic flight to Okinawa. Perhaps not with China Air though, which lands in Haneda airport (but after transit in Taipei?). She will still have to move from international terminal to domestic terminal at Haneda though. Or does China Air have direct, non-stop service to from Taipei to Okinawa?

I tried on-line booking from China Air website for 7/16 flight from BKK - Naha and it does show it's fully booked for both economy and dynasty (business) class for that date. For Saturday, 16th, Asiana Airlines (Korea) also flies from Bangkok to Naha with transit at Inchon (OZ742/OZ712) and ANA with transit at Narita/Haneda (but your GF will probably have to move from Narita airport to Haneda which is connected by train from Narita airport underground to Haneda airport undergroud) and that is flight NH916/NH127. For Sunday the 17th, there are two flights, one that I think your GF is already booked on and ANA NH916/NH127.

I would say just stick to your original itinerary as it looks to me like much less hassle for your GF than to land in Narita or Kansai which will require a change of airport from international to domestic, which means she has to know how to buy a train ticket from Narita to Haneda, move from airport to airport with her suitcases, find a correct terminal bldg, correct check-in counter, and go through a check-in process all over again, which is too much a hassle for a Thai person who's never flown beflore. Even if the typhoon gets bad enough that the plane will have to divert to another airport, they will still take her to the original destination.
