Belgian Lady Senator Kim Geybels Involved In Drugs Deal In Thailand

It's an odd story. She's not the first young woman who made an unwise decision and she won't be the last. Her biggest mistake was getting hooked up with the loser. He's probably a good looking, smooth talking, lady's man and she fell for his line. It is easy enough to get involved with something bad when you choose bad company. All is well that ends well and hopefully, she has learned her lesson and moves on. If she sticks with the guy she deserves anything that befalls her in the future.

She is 29, not 40, Jack. She was born in October 1981. But, her age means nothing. She made a few bad decisions, including her choice of partner.

Has no one else noticed the headline "Belgian LADY Senator Kim Geybels Involved in ........." Is it just me? After all, we Americans don't write headlines about "Lady Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton .....". Seems like the media is playing up the young, female and good-looking angle.

That is typical of the media, Nancy. Unless we actually know the person and persons involved then anything said here is just conjecture. The media always enjoys a scandal, and especially if the person is attractive and in the limelight. It wouldn't even make the news if it was some Joe Lunchbucket and his fat wife. All I have to go on is knowing human nature and what actually happens when people make poor choices in life. I hate throwing darts at someone if I know that something similar could happen to me.

Your panties are showing Nancy. There's a fair few blokes around called Kim. Like the Oz ambassador to the US, a former politician called Kim Beazley for example.

Sorry.

And yours as well Ian!

Main question:

" Why did the Belgian government, through their BKK embassy, protect and aid drug dealers, instead of reporting them to the police??? "

This is the main scandal Belgium has to answer for.

Probably says a lot about the political leaning of the local Belgian Ambassador if indeed he did intervene and spirited these dodgy tossers out under some sort of diplo immunity.

Maybe one of the Belgian members would be so kind and translate one or two of these articles into English since I don't have the time right now:

Interesting content....

LaoPo

Interesting indeed...

But sorry Khun Lao Po, I am not from Belgium anymore...

I am from Brussels!!!

Sorry as well to the mods, I know this completely out of topic: but they will never get Brussels! :jap:

Didn't Monty Python's have a debate on the renaming of the Belgians to better accommodate the ethnic divisions? As I recall, it was a dead heat with 'Greasy Fat Belgian Bastards' narrowly losing out to the 'Phlegms'.

Meanwhile, back on topic....
