The airline will not allow you onboard the plane without an exit ticket as has been stated by many other contributors already. But if you obtain one, then you could register with a non-profit organization called couchsurfing.org which maintains a network of individuals who offer accommodation for free to travellers all over the world. I come in on a one way ticket, its no problem, but to cover yourself go through the process of booking a ticket out of BKK at lastminute.com then print it off should anyone ask.

Be very careful as you could fall into a lot of traps and read the guideance given to you my members of the forum. Its not easy to settle in Thailand for someone as young as you and it is not as cheap as it was when l came here 10 years ago. Deoends a lot on your career path and if you are on a gap year l would stay here about 3 months and then move on to another country
