Where Do You Get Your Rates From?

Featured Replies

I notice there's a feature at the top right of the screen giving exchange rates but I have also noticed that it's about 1 Baht per $ lower than the Bangkok Bank rates online.Where do you get those rates from and how do we know they are beleivable?

Edit: http://www.bangkokbank.com/Bangkok%20Bank/Personal%20Banking/Foreign%20Exchange/FX%20Rates/Pages/Default.aspx

NOT off the www as those rates usually don't correspond what you'll get in Thailand at the bank.

For Siam Commercial Bank, where I deposit monthly a US$$ check to my baht account, I use:

http://www.scb.co.th/scb_api/index.jsp

The rate for the US$$ for this morning is 30.79, which is what I'd have received for my check, or a travelers check.

This seems to be what TV are using.

Does anyone ever go to the bank and change just $1 though? Displaying the rate for $100 or TT would be more useful to most TVers

The FIAT gang probably lobbies hard for the $US1 exchange rate because it will likely break the 30 mark sooner than the $US100 rate... That will maybe rejuvenate the Financial-Crisis-of-the-Day Topic.
