September 7, 201015 yr I just returned after a 23 month absence. I noticed a sighn along the path near Chiang Mai Gate: 10,000 THB fine for drinking in public (and/or 6 months imprisonment). What's up? that's Singapore prices for fines. Has anyone had to make a donation to avoid prosecution? On the other hand, it looks like the ditched the early bar closing thing. Chalk one up for the good guys.
September 7, 201015 yr Gate: 10,000 THB fine for drinking in public (and/or 6 months imprisonment). If things aren't bad enough economically for businesses the authorities need to put that one up on Loi Khro Road.
September 7, 201015 yr As a point of clarification.... The fine is 10,000B or 6 mouths! If you're caught, make sure you have five friends with you!
September 11, 201015 yr Author As a point of clarification.... The fine is 10,000B or 6 mouths! If you're caught, make sure you have five friends with you! You didn't clarify anything. The sign says 10,000 B fine 6 months imprisonment or BOTH.

September 11, 201015 yr If they are enforcing that fine you would never now it based upon the number of shirtless kii nok's that you see drinking big bottles of Chang while walking down Mun Mueang Rd.
September 15, 201015 yr Author Maybe we should start a thread about the shirtless. I've never seen more of them. Anyone know, when they stopped issuing fines for that?
