How To Make Cheap International Calls

If i need to make international calls what is the cheap way of doing it?

I have a direct line from True for my ADSL internet connection and can dial on that.

I also have a mobile and am using 1-2-call. (Is that DTAC, by the way?)

It does not make any difference which line you use.

The cost depends on the country you are calling.

The CAT network covers most countries and is accessed by 001 in front of the country code.

TOT also has international access nowadays and can be accessed by

007 for a normal connection or

008 for a Voice over IP connection, which is a little cheaper.

Calls can be as low as 7 baht a minute.

TOT has access to a smaller number of countries.

If you use your mobile remember to dial the code for the network,

001, 007 or 008, or the mobile company will choose for you.

You can research costs via the internet.

Do i need to get a special handset? Or do i just buy a card from a shop? If you could tell me the name of this sort of card then i can try and find one at eg mbk.

2 For an international call to eg the UK the country code is 44, for the USA it is 1 so, would i dial as follows:

UK 001-44-areacode-number

USA 001-1-areacode-number

?

I think that is just the normal way to phone, right?

No, you don't need to get a special handset. With your 12call mobile (to call in UK i.e) dial 009 44 and the area code number without the first '0' if any.

The fare is about 6Bt/min

009 is also suitable with a land phone line. you can also dial 001 809 44 etc...

Bild will be issue with half minute fare.
