Corona

Went for my daily coffee fix this morning and spotted this,it's a rainbow that circles the sun the missus said it was (พระอาทิตย์ทรงกลด) checked the dictionary (thai/english) and it said Corona,i then checked the (english dic) and it said Corona a circle of light around the sun or moon during an eclipse,well there was no eclipse but the rainbow was there around the sun,iv'e never heard of this before has anyone experienced this sight before,and is this classed as a (Corona).

I dont have a technical camera (or if i have i dont know about it) so i took these pics covering the lens with my sunglasses.

It's not a corona it's a 22 degrees halo caused by ice crystals in high altitude clouds

Never seen them before moving here (maybe coz the sun never shines in the UK), now see them regularly.

I seen one in Chad, Africa in 2002; hadn't seen one before nor have I seen one since.
