Could anybody tell me how the weather is actually on Koh Chang? I would like to travel there, but I'm afraid about heavy rain. Thanks for info

Koh Chang Weather

Koh Chang, like the rest of Thailand, has 2 seasons, the rainy season here lasts from June until October and the dry season from November until May. Most visitors are on the island between December and March, this is also the best time for a stay, since the temperatures rarely exceed over 30°Celsius. In November and December it can become occasionally quite cool because of the wind in the evening and at night. The month with the most rainfall is August with an average 700 mm.

Some Bungalow-Resorts close during the monsoon season, but most resorts are open all year round.

I go to Koh Chang all year round, the rainy season usually means cheaper prices and a few heavy showers followed by sunshine, rather nice really.

nearby Koh Samet is meant to be one of the driest places in Thailand...

At this time of year you could get heavy rain for days with only a few breaks.Or as said before you could get longish periods a good weather. No matter what anyone says is happening today, tomorrow could be completely different.Either chance it or try Koh Samet said to be dryer.

Isn't Trat Province one of the rainiest in Thailand? That's what they told me when I was there in July a couple of years back. It was raining and blowing so hard many people wouldn't get on the ferry. We waited two days in Trat and finally left. It never did stop raining while we were there.
