Nai Harn Burglary - I Want My Camera Back

Featured Replies

My place in Nai Harn was broken into last night while I was out.

They took my camera bag which contained most of my photography and birding kit including:

Canon 40D camera

Canon 300mm F4 lens

Nikon Coolpix 5800 camera

Nikon Monarch 8x42 binoculars

Bushnell Excursion 10x42 binoculars

Ipod Nano with Cyanics speaker

Most of this is specialist birding equipment and the theif might find it difficult to shift.

Does anyone know of any 2nd hand shops this might end up at?

If you get offered any of the above then please stall them and get back to me asap.

Thanks.

talk with the patrol police officers in your area, and offer them 5k baht award to find your stuff. They often succeed

for anyone to "stall them and get back to you asap" may be difficult without name and phone number

There are pawn shops in Phuket Town. I've read of cases where they were put on alert for certain items. I doubt you'll get this treatment, but it might be worth it to you to pay a visit and offer a reward etc. to them along with some photos of what was stolen.

Sorry to hear that.

I always leave my camera bag in my room, full of my Canon equipment. I MUST change my habits.

Maybe a big safety box (seen for 10/15.000 baht in Homepro) embedded in the cement in a wall

i always leave all my electrical stuff and anything valuable in my safe....

as another poster mentioned, offer the police a reward ( yes it is there job anyway ) but they seem to work on finacial incentives

OH that is terrible, sorry to hear that..

can I ask how they got in? What time and what part of Nai Harn?

Do you think it was someone who knew you had a lot of gear?

Some nice equipment there. I sincerely hope that you get it back. Good luck.

Yeah the 40D is what my brother uses for surf photography.. Nice solid feeling bit of kit.

Sorry for your loss, good luck with recovery.

HI

You have a photo of the stuff, might help if somebody see it in a shop or somebody want to sell?

A big safe is around 25.000, to late i know, but

It seems that this is not an isolated incident. We had 5 burglary's in our small Soi "Karnjana" in Nai Harn in one "1" week only.

They (or he) robbed one House twice. And there was knowledge of the Location and what to take.

In all Cases the Owner was out for a limited Period of time.

In my case they disable my Lightsystem which i had around the House by shortcutting the Fuse from the outside.

Than dislocated the high mounted cameras with a plastic Pipe which they brought.

that was my 5th. Burglary in 7 years in one Location.

5 in 7 years ?? Jeez thats poor.
