Did I Hear Correctly?

I think if the muslim's started to protest I think it would spark off violence with the white community. I also havent seen any demonstration or protest comdeming the attack from other religions.

Don’t agree Davey,

If the Muslims where to conduct big protests about these terrorist acts,

not just in London but all over the world, I think it would show a bit of solidarity, and it would take away any semblance that these fcukwits where fighting in their name.

Why would white folks react violently to this?

I just think the “Great Muslin Moderate Majority” which we hear so much about has not been vocal enough in condemning this shit.

I think it’s time that we stopped being PC and discussed this thing openly, I really think that rightly or wrongly the majority of Muslims think that all their troubles are the fault of the west and that a lot of them have a certain empathy with these nutters.

Ok, I’ve probably stepped over the mark here and will get pasted for this, but at least lets talk openly about this.

<deleted>, I sound like a storm trooper, but nothing could be further from the truth.

The reason I believe there would be violence is because there is a lot of ignorant people in this world ... There is already a LOT of animosity between whites and muslims in the uk and for a large group of muslims to take to the streets and protest... well let me give to a likely scenario ... Muslims protest to stop bombings, some ignorant westerner "it's your fcuked up religion which has caused this, you are only protesting because you now fear for your own safety, you don't give a <deleted> about us" ... A side from this I think it would be a good idea for muslim leaders to condemn the attacks, but not for the averge muslims to take to the streets and protest, particuarly in the uk

Davey : Maybe you have a point, there maybe a lot of room for misunderstanding here, but I still feel strongly that if they, (“The Vast Moderate Muslim Majority”), got up off their arse, and said “Not in My Name”, very loudly and very clearly then these <deleted> morons who are perpetrating these attacks could no longer claim that they are doing what they do in the name of Islam, or for the benefit of their Muslim brothers. Then they would be marginalized even more and be more identifiable.

If the “Vast Moderate Muslim Majority: actively worked against these tossers and kept their eyes and ears open and reported what they saw and what they knew and what they suspected there is no way any insurgency could survive amongst them.

Sweatball : No I did not protest against Abu Ghraib, (although I have to say, a pair of knickers on a guy’s head is hardly a reason to take to the streets, I know lots of perverts that would pay good money for that kind of treatment). Yeh , ok I’m maybe being flippant and there was more to it than that, but what happened in Abu Ghraib does in no way compare to Bali, 9 / 11, Madrid or London, to name but a few.

I talked before about a certain empathy that the Muslim Moderates had for these murderers and I seen a good example on the news yesterday. A young Muslim guy was being interviewed on the street, in London by the BBC. He was very animated and excitable and not very articulate, but what he was saying was,

“Yeh, Muslims can only take so much, and then they will explode and do something. It’s no wonder things like this happen”

This is all too typical of “Moderate Muslims”.

It is time that they stood up and where counted.

Gonna bunker down now, Incoming! Incoming!

I realize this is a hypothetical and unlikely scenario, but read it with a pinch of salt anyway, and think about it, ok?

Two Swedish/Australian/Russian/German (pick whatever farang nationality) men aged 30-40 plant bombs on the skytrain in Thailand, that go off and kill 100 people.

The Thai government issues a statement saying it is fine to shoot to kill farang men who act suspicious and whom the police have reasons to suspect he is a terrorist.

As you are watching a movie in the privacy of your apartment, a task force of 25 men with automatic carbines and lachrymatory gas raid your German neighbour's apartment. Your three-year old daughter is outside in the corridor when this happens, she runs inside crying and cannot sleep at night for weeks after the incident.

In the street, you notice people have stopped smiling and started to look at you disapprovingly, in particular the boorish types. Conversations stop as you approach. The newspapers and media interview Thais saying all farang should be thrown out of the country. Many of them claim that this is a problem with Western culture, that it breeds violence and arrogance, and that farang men have come here long enough to get drunk, sell drugs and cause trouble. A guy you chatted with at the pub a week ago, who is a 53-year old American with an export business, gets popped by the police when he drives his car right through a road block.

Would you protest against what these Swedish/Australian/Russian/German men did? Would you at all feel you have something in common with them in any way?

To use an example closer to the Thai reality - have you organized any protests against the farang paedophiles who get caught in South East Asia on a regular basis? (I know there are plenty of local and non-farang paedohiles too, we dont need to have that discussion)

Thats is a bit far fetched, but I do take your point... However, you did say "Would you protest against what these Swedish/Australian/Russian/German men did? Would you at all feel you have something in common with them in any way?" I must admit I wouldn't protest against these people... However is this not sort of irrelevant? These people who committed the London bombings done it in the name of their religion not their country.

I am presuming you mean a white christian from Sweden/Austrailia/Russia/Germany?
