New Fan

Featured Replies

My old(3'high) floor fan has given up the ghost. I need to buy a new one(less than 1,000baht). I'm going to tuk.com this evening and am planning on checking out HomePro and HomeWorks next. Does anyone know where I'm likely to get the best price?

Tesco or BigC.

I got a good Mitsubishi from Big C Pattaya 2nd Road for around 800 baht and it has being going strong for many years now.

Avoid Sanyo fans like the plague.

I suggest a Lakewood remote control floor model. One of the best appliances that I have ever bought.

Hatari brand from Carrefour. You may get one of the ones with sexy remote control for less than 800 baht.

FWIW I don't recommend buying one of the fans with the electronic controls and remotes if the place you live has electrical voltage issues. Surges, sags, and brief outages. The fan will stop when the power blips and not re-start without operator intervention. If there are surges and such the electronic controls will get fried sooner than later.

I have owned 3 units like this and all three have had issues with the control units due to power problems. Also its a hassle to find the remote to re-start the fan when the power blips for a second or two.
