francois
I have 128 mb of RAM. Want to go to 256. Can I just plug in an additional 128 RAM chip set? first what kind of main board do you have? (how many memory slots is there inside?) laptop or desktop? anyway, if not too old ... 128mb is short, so an upgrade is a good thing to do, but at the price of SDRAM now, why not add a 256mb one? some more ... what system do you use? win98, win2k or XP, or Linux? win98 does not manage memory so well , better to stay in the 256mb range. it's less a problem with 2k or XP, no problem with Linux as long as you run a kernel 2.3 or above just give some precision, this will help to help you what CPU, the bus-seed depends on it ... celeron or PIII or P4? SDRAM come in two bus speed pc100 (100mhz), and ps133 (133mhz). you can all this without opening the CU ... just read the lines on boot or go to your control panel and read all about system. CPU, RAM everything is there
