Saw a post a while back saying that Burma was no longer accepting $10. 500 baht or nothing. Anyone been recently (within the last week or two) that can confirm or deny this?Thanks much.

You mat get a quicker answer if you have mods the move this to the Chiang Rai forum as they are only about 60 kilometers from the boarders and they get this question all the time. Just click on the report button and ask.

Last time when i was there, about a month ago.. they wanted to refuse my 10 dollar bill, reason, the banks where closed...

I said it's tuesday, the banks are open.

Then they accepted the 10 dollar bill..

Strange.. country...

i was in Yangon 6 weeks ago, no problem. At airport, hotels, even local shops, also accepting thai currency. only point is the notes must be in pristine condition.
